AMD Releases Catalyst 10.4 Driver Update
Overall the 10.4 release did not add significant new features, at least not for Eyefinity users. Specifically, it did not release support for 5x1-Portrait mode. Notable new features are enhancements to the ATI Catalyst video playback and Video Transcoding. It specifically added support for the Windows 7 Drag and Drop video converter in the Catalyst Control Center. Gaming updates include:
<strong>Desktop Cursor</strong> - Fixed issue of intermittently appearing englarged
<strong>Eyefinity Configuration</strong> - Pressing the "Page Down" button while configuring the last display in Eyefinity group will now properly switch to the next display instead of closing the bezel user interface
<strong>Bezel Compensation</strong> - Shortcut keys to configure the bezel now functions properly
<strong>S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky</strong> - Performance Updates: 3% improvements on 5700 and 5800 series. 5970 series saw 6% improvement.
<strong>Battlefield: Bad Company 2</strong> - Maps no longer takes unusually long to load for ATI RadeonTM HD 5000 Series
<strong>Catalyst Control Center</strong> - Advanced options no longer becomes disabled after connecting second display in clone mode
<strong>Total War Series</strong> - In-game anti-alias now functions properly when other in-game options like Volumetric Effects are enabled in "Empire: Total War" and "Napoleon: Total War" games
<strong>NecroVisioN</strong> - Game now launches properly in DirectX 10 mode
<strong>Chronicles of Riddick 2</strong> - Blank screen no longer observed when 8X anti-aliasing is applied
<strong>Shattered Horizon</strong> - Flashing no longer visible CrossFireX enabled
