ATI Partners Announce HD 5970 4GB at Cebit
At Cebit this week vendors are starting to announce the release of 4GB versions of the Radeon HD 5970. The original HD 5970 was the first "CrossFireX on a single card" board released in the 5000-series line. It was essentially two HD 5870s in one package, with each GPU only having 1GB of VRAM.
Many people through the extreme Eyefinity resolutions intended for the HD 5970 would be better served with 2GB of VRAM per GPU (another reason the Eyefinity6 has been so anticipated). The new 5970 (along with the Eyefinity6) solve that issue, and provide another option for users who are only looking to utilize three screens. This thread has been set up to discuss these releases.
