For a single 24" monitor I don't see any real reason to upgrade from the 280. I replaced my 260 with a 5850. Its hard to say it was a noticeable upgrade since nothing I played was slow to begin with. If you are having performance issues now sure upgrade, but I can't imagine you are unless its BF2 at...

XFX HD-577X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 1GB $160 Dbl Lifetime Warranty http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150462 You can't really get a good priced 260 GTX anymore. They are pretty much end of life and the few left out there have jacked up prices at this point above $200. Might find so...

The 250 is basically a slightly updated 8800GTX. Which is still decent horsepower, but won't push high quality graphics on new games anymore except at 1280 and below prolly. Lower graphics down and it'll run decent at higher res's. Prolly still a noticeable difference from what you got but not insan...

Well there aren't really any bad 1366 boards. It mainly comes down to cost and features. The P6X58D I got has been very nice. The Gigabyte UD5 and UD7 boards are very good. The Evga 3 way boards are good, but your not going to get real 3x PCIE x16 ofcourse. If you don't want SATA3, USB 3.0, and extr...

So, $1500. You got good ram. 4x2gb stick I am guessing. Waste to just ditch it all and start over with DDR3 when you've only gotten what a year or so of life out of it as it is. Not like your going to get an insane performance boost from going to i3/i5/i7 vs the Q6600 either, except for possibly hig...

Your cpu is already holding you back a good bit. The performance numbers between stock and OC'd i7's is pretty sick. They are capable of 4ghz with little to no voltage increase. I am pretty sure even the demo systems AMD uses when showing off systems with 2-3 cards and Eyefinity are heavily overcloc...

I went from an 8800GTX to a 260 (192) a while back. Was able to sell my old card and get the new one for about a $30 difference. Was a great upgrade. Performance was a little better, but VQ was incredibly better. I've seen similar problems before where people don't get the fps they should after an u...

Grats on new PC! The tri-cores actually look pretty cool from bench's i've seen. Invest in an aftermarket cooler and hopefully the MB can do some OC'ing and it should do very nicely. As for the PSU, 250 watt and onboard video. I am guessing this is a MicroATX setup. That means the case may not hold ...

Pissy, whatever you are the one who can't read. You choose to respond to half statements and go off on tangents without comprehending the entire post. So yes, I took offense to it. I guess I do live in never never land and I'm the only lucky person on the planet that found a good price on a 260 lol....

Geez Frag let it go lol. I don't know what exactly you are arguing. My last card as an 8800 GTX and I just upgraded to a 260 GTX. That doesn't exactly make me AMD/ATI's choir boy. I only posted what I did bc the OP is in the same spot I was, with the same card and looking at the same choices. I did ...

It depends what Core 216 you look at and when. Over Thanksgiving weekend Newegg had the XFXGTX 260 Black Edition for $250, which is a Core 216 OCed to 666Mhz. It's about the same performance as a GTX 280 for a lot less. Also, your performance increase over a lesser card goes up dramatically when yo...

I just upgraded my 8800 GTX to the MSI 260 GTX OC. Was $200, found a 25 promo code, and it had a 20 rebate. I then sold my 8800 GTX for $110 instantly on another forum. So my upgrade ended up costing me $55. I couldn't pass that up lol. The $25 promo code is over, but I think there is a $15 one now....
