1280x768 is the defacto standard for LCD TV's. only ultraportable laptops with 12" screens use this res that i know of.

most (cheap) widescreen notebooks and 17" desktop displays use 1280x800.


1280x768 (WXGA) is the standard now being used for most 17" widescreen LCD monitors.

Yeah, 1280x768 is cool because you can run a standard 1024x768 pictue and it will automatically fill the screen vertically, with just black bars on both sides . . . . . . unless your 1280x768 panel is an Acer AL1751W, in which case it doesn't matter a damn what 4:3 resolution you set, you're still g...
