The Spyder3 Pro I use has support for more than one display. Whether it also works in eyefinity, I do not know...

Never! It started off as a thread about X-Warrior's new system, and it is still on topic of his new system 8) I agree ;) Good news it's working. Troubleshooting hardware problems can be pretty demoralising at times if you have no replacements on hand! Indeed. On the other hand, it works the other w...

The rig is up and running again :D 6GB straight at the first boot. Well, it has been off for quite some time, so if there's any time it would've failed, it's now, and it didn't. Happy :) While I was at it I ripped the USB hub from the back of my old pc and put it in here. Had a free USB slot on the ...

I've had a short look at Caesar 2. Unfortunately, I can't find anything obvious enough to change the resolution. Seems hardcoded into the game.

I sent it on Friday. But since the local mail only does recorded deliveries on Monday-Friday, it was delivered yesterday. Apparently, since the track&trace site still hasn't updated from 'underway' to 'delivered'. But I've been sent the replacement by the vendor already, so I'll just assume it arriv...

Media storage. Does that mean it won't actually be used all day? In that case I'd suggest an external harddisk. Or is there an obvious drawback you really don't want that I'm missing? Alternatively, there's the expensive option: get yourself a NAS server. Then again, afaik the size of a normal HDD i...

Silly question maybe.
But are there any displays in existance which can connect to this graphics card without an adapter?

The RAM has been sent over yonder. With luck they'll receive it tomorrow and send the replacement on Monday, so I'll be back online with the new rig on Tuesday. Basically that would leave me with just tomorrow to cover. Monday evenings I don't usually have much time for using it, other than some qui...

Well, I'm glad it's the RAM. Because it's the easiest part to replace. I don't even have to move my pc from it's place to do so. Were it to be the MoBo, I'd have to disassemble everything. So I'm quite relieved now actually. It'll be a few days without pc, but I'll live. Always have my Wii and my 50...

Look at the 2D power draw of the 5870!

When I read that I thought you were saying it's skyhigh. Then I looked at the graphs. Quite impressive. Does lower than the high end 2xx series of nVidia at load as well.

Yesterday it went straight to 6GB. But today, it was 4 GB once more! Good good good. But now... which channel was it? I'll tell you: channel B. That's right, same DIMM once more. This DIMM has failed Memtest, failed in channel C, and failed in channel B. What are the chances that something else is b...

Haven't tried it. I'm usually not much of a beta person.

I have heard someone complain about severe performance issues though. Seems to be an isolated incident so far though.

The only way you can diagnose is to swap the RAM sticks around, and see how the problem re-manifests itself. Already done. Currently waiting for the next failure. It did not fail today. You are right, you do have 2 years to fix it. But I would want that monster to be working asap :P You seem very r...

What joy, it did the trick again today. And it's Tuesday! Either it's a coincidence, or I had it off for just long enough, or the problem's slowly getting worse. Of course, I had not switched the DIMMs yet, since I hadn't expected this (but I was ready to stop the boot with the DEL button, so no har...

I've done memtest per chip, and the middle DIMM has failed it at first, right at the first pass already. When I retried later, it didn't fail anymore. Maybe because it's had power recently... It's not utterly bad, it just needs too much time to get started it seems. Very strange, yet it is what I'm ...

It's Monday again! And that means glitch time. Well, seems the BIOS update didn't cut it. It was displaying 4GB again at first. This time I managed to hurry into the BIOS setup though, so Windows did not boot and crash, resulting in system restore, etc. Anyway, once in the BIOS, I looked up which me...

On a side note:

My pc case is currently standing on the floor. Which comes with its share of static and dust. Anyone know of a small type of 'table' on which I could put it something like 10cm above the floor? Wheels would be a nice addition.

how is the BIOS battery for voltage? I have no idea actually. Never really thought this far... where do I check? BIOS? lots of the BIOS settings seem to be completely different to settings that software is reporting Please clarify? All I can come up with currently is the 3.2GHz(x24) mention at firs...

Those archers are bigger than the trees. And did you also complain in Civ1 that all units were squares? It'll be a nice one to look forward to for many people I'm sure. For me, I'll probably wait until a weekend deal on Steam or even longer until it's really cheap. €10-15 sounds about right,...
