I remember when the original Doom shareware took TWO FLOPPIES, and the full game was on THREE!

with vista on the horizon, i think it would be suicide for any game developer to use SF...

I'm not sure HL2:DM is clan material, but seeing people roll cars down the street is always a hoot. There's no other game can you kill someone with a toilet. :D

wow, first the spyware and now this? So.. they have alienated widescreen users along with anyone who doesn't like software watching your internet usage.. EA and DICE are really getting good at this. The only thing they need now is to use starforce and they'll have their bases covered. ROFL... deliv...

Heh, what would happen if we went to Anti-EA Spyware sites all day? :P ROFL... you make me want to buy the game now! Seriously though, if you did visit anti-EA websites you could expected masked men to kidnap you from your home. The next six months of your life will be spent in a "re-conditio...

I also hate that expression. It's like saying "If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear from daily cavity searches." EA is already a making millions; there's no justification for ads unless it meant a reduction in game cost. And as for spyware - there's no justification whatsoever....

The 1.4 patch is a strange one. It was released with fixes specifically for ATI cards (from memory) but then pulled because of some bug. But it was never re-released.

Didn't they "soften" up some of the difficulty spots in the patches? If you played v1.0 then yeah, it was pretty hard.

Hey X-Ray Doc, Sorry to confuse you... FarCry was one the most confusing games i've had to WS hack. Seems my guide hasn't helped much. The inconsistancy between the top screenshots and the ones in the third post is Single-Player vs Multiplayer mode. In Single-player, the games is HOR+... and works b...

:? I didnt mind the trigens. The first time i went up against one i was impressed that they took MULTIPLE shots to kill... they felt more hardcore than the humans. But each to their own.

Just got around to playing the demo... this game is GREAT! Possibly as good as Dawn of War, but easier to learn since it's not as futuristic.

Anyone played this multiplayer? Is it as good as DoW?

So is there any SLI fix for the demo? I get a horrific 3fps at 1920x1200 max settings and dropping things doesn't really help. :(

The game does look very sweet though.

I'm really concerned about BF2142. I know a number of people massively excited about this game. EA has them enslaved and brainwashed to hand over money for more of the same.

Perhaps FEAR didn't sell as well as they wanted (it is, afterall, a single player game ... MP is fun but not worth buying) and they are using this demo as a way of attracting attention.

I'm sure the final game will be polished; we're not talking about an EA release here.

i tried this demo, and fortunately the 7950GX2 eats it up, spits it out, and still has room for more.

hard to believe they can improve on FEAR but seems like they have listened to the community and introduced more varied enemies.
