Well, that wasn't really my argument. I was arguing that although I find DRM to be a flaw, I still bought AC2 because I think that we've caused companies to reach this level. I think that our community has driven Ubisoft to this so I can't blame them for it. Since I have a really stable internet co... |

[quote]I said it includes old consoles which were easier to pirate with. I disagree, the Wii is easily the easiest console to pirate with. The original Xbox was decently easy, it still required additional hardware that 99% of people didn't have. (Those pieces being a Memory card and a method to con... |

[quote][quote]'Only' 25% said they do it all the time. Along with 18% on the console. Its not /that/ much different. True, but that includes all consoles. I don't know anyone who didn't mod their original Xbox to play old console games. Why does it matter what era they are pirating from? Are you sa... |

To begin, that's a small sample (though I don't know if it's large enough to be statistically significant) that's not randomized, made up of people that read a video-gaming blog (meaning they're probably not very casual gamers). One of the best-selling games of all time is The Sims, which is not pa... |

WHY, who did you open another thread? We get it, you and cranky would open up a slaughter house for pirates if you could, the discussion is over! I mostly posted this because I thought the percentage was insanely high for a volunteer survey, and the whole article is interesting really. I guess post... |

So, sometimes when you debate the PC piracy problem people act like publishers overreact and the problem is not that big a deal and those people would not buy games anyway, but... here is a large anonymous survey from the biggest gaming blog showing this is not the case. 79% of gamers on that site p... |

FFT is a more serious game with a lot deeper mechanics to it. There's far more strategy involved with it. Disgaea may be better for you if you like childish storylines and a simpler game overall. Disgaea has more content with the committee, voting, item world, etc., but they don't really add any ex... |

60fps cap does nothing to help but a 30fps cap solves all the issues. The lower framerate is indeed noticeable even with a gamepad though, so I shall have to experiment to see which is worse for me.
Thank you though Paddy, nice to have options! |

[quote]My ONLY complaint is that this is one of those games where v-synch costs you a lot of frames... seems to jump from 30 to 60 and back again without much room in between, and I hate tearing, so... arg.Maybe this will help ... I'm not sure as the game hasn't unlocked yet here in the UK and I ha... |

Velvet, haven't you mentioned you have an X360? It's also being released on that. My console history is extremely complicated, I tend to buy them and then sell them because I never use them. I got a Wii and sold it because I never turned it on for months. I actually got a PS3 for blu-ray at one one... |

Even on 1080res with a lot of stuff turned off it looks much better than the 360 version dwanna.
My performance is great, just V-synch sucks, massively slows down the game. This has been happening a lot lately, I assume because there is no v-synch on consoles? I don't know. |

SV - Disgaea is awesome. Strategy RPGs are just... amazing.
Is it like FF Tactics? I loved that game.
A PS3 sequel to that would get me to buy the system REAL fast. |

Honestly I don't like Japanese games much at all outside Final Fantasy and the old platformers. I have never once completed a JRPG without the FF name on it other than Secret of Mana, and that was just for the coop. If I get a PS3 it will be for FF13 and maybe some of the other RPG/Shooter exclusive... |

[quote]Every time "general gaming" is lit up I get excited, but then it's always this thread. SV seems to want General Gaming Discussions... so... Yay! I am wondering if this is worth buying a PS3 for. I bought a PS1 for FF7 and a PS2 for FF10, mostly because I loved the SNES ones as a kid. I think... |

The problem for me is I like simple games AND deeper games, so what the heck am I supposed to do? I wish SC5 was not turned into this, but this still looks like a game I would enjoy. |

Not sure about eyefinity but v-synch is glitched in the game in general. Either have it off in-game and force it through drivers, or a simple in-game fix is to change your res every time you load the game, then change back to your default.
See if that works. |
