One quirk of wsgf that has bugged me is listing games as having native widescreen support...but they don't support my widescreen natively (1280x720). Is it possible that you do/did not have the right drivers installed for your monitor? On my system, EQ2 lists and supports every resolution supported ... |

They'll have a hard time charging for that DLC after the promotion period. The "content" of the pack is quite pathetic (the "siege" you have to break to earn the castle consists of a whopping 5 people) and the castle itself consists entirely of re-used elements. A far cry from the amazing Frostcrag ... |

Do not scale -
The picture is displayed in a little window in the middle of the screen, surrounded by thick black borders. It is still stretched.
No scaling should not result in a scretched image. It simply displays the original image in its original resolution, centered. |

This is overkill. All you need to do to force a resolution is to change your shortcut.
E.g. D:GamesGothicSystemGothic.exe -zRes:1680,1050,32
This will force the desired resolution and color depth regardless of what's set in the ini.
Same workaround also works for Gothic 2. |

Not everyone can afford to upgrade regularly.
The first SM 3.0 consumer cards were introduced in 2004, btw. |

Does anyone know anything about this upcoming monitor with a better panel that flo mentioned?
This is what I was thinking of. 22" S-PVA panel at 1920x1200 native resolution. |

1280x1024 is actually 5:4. 1280x960 is the closest 4:3 ratio. You can either have it scaled up to the height of the monitor or windowboxed with no scaling. |

I don't know if the problem is entirely in nvidia's code or if individual monitor make a difference but at least in my case it seems to be that way. I don't think it depends on the monitor. Fixed aspect ratio scaling worked fine on my Samsung 226BW with my old computer with a 6800 GT, but not not o... |

In WoW, realms = servers. You can make a character on any realm corresponding to your WoW region (i.e. if you buy the EU version you can't play on US servers). You should read the WoW FAQ for more information about realm types: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/realmtypes.html If you make a... |

1. NVidia drivers have an option for "fixed aspect ratio scaling" which will add pillarboxes on the sides when using non-16:10 resolutions. This feature appears to be broken on 8800 cards atm, though. I'm sure ATI's drivers have an equivalent option. 2. Can't say if it's "the" 22" widescreen to get,... |

From the FAQ:
Does TripleHead2Go Digital Edition support analog monitors?
Yes. TripleHead2Go Digital Edition has three DVI-I outputs, each of which can support either a DVI digital or an analog monitor. To connect analog monitors, you need to purchase 3x DVI-to-VGA adapters. |

It's a shame you know, i beta tested that and it had huge potential, it was really fun. Gawd knows what they did to it to make it fail so horrendously. It wasn't the kind of game that people were willing to pay $15/month for. It might have done better at a lower price point. Or even without a month... |

There actually aren't that many precedences for "high profile" western MMOs being closed. The oldest "real" MMOs (Meridian 59, Ultima Online, EverQuest) are still running. The best known cases for MMOs being shut down are Asheron's Call 2 (being survived by its predecessor) and the recently closed A... |

You can't have more than one monitor active on an SLI setup. If you want to use more than one, you have to disable SLI. So if you want three monitors in an SLI setup, TH2Go seems to be the only option. |

I have the odd case of a game (The Moment of Silence) which has a fixed resolution of 1024x768 (4:3), but displays the actual game in a letterboxed format (1024x512 visible / 2:1 aspect). My monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050. I can use fixed-aspect ratio scaling (Forceware 162.18) to maintain... |

Personally, I see nothing wrong with ad-supported free games. They tell you up front that the game is ad-supported, you don't have to pay a thing, and it's up to you if you play it or not. Now, ad-supported paid games are another matter. If a game forces ads on me and doesn't give me any benefits to... |

This discussion is silly. phpBB supports custom tags. It would be a matter of seconds for an administrator to setup a custom tag to create a real
tag. HTML tags can be used to set text and background to the same color. E.g. "
%1
" gets turned into "Spoiler, highlight to re... |

Widescreen support in EverQuest is native. Ini-modification is still an option but all resolutions supported by the monitor are available in-game.
EverQuest has a fixed fov and is therefore "vert-":
1280x1024:
1600x900:
1680x1050:
UI and splash screens do not stretch. |
