I have FullHD LCD TV, and I found that the "best" (i.e. least worst) solution is to use the "NoBands" trick and play in 1440x1080 - that way you get a 4:3 resolution with 1:1 pixel mapping and you don't see top and bottom bars. It is a real pity that it is not possible to play this game in real prop...

Guys, who found the fov value in the bin. I'm not home to test it, but the exe file contains the hash value of of the coalesced.bin or smth, and it crashes if the values r not the same. maybe someone will try to write the hash of the fov-changed bin in the exe and try it? i'd play the game, if the ...

Can someone help me plz. I dont know what to change in the Hex editor
The explanation is to confusing, what should I change? text value, hex values, etc....

Actually it's not confusing. It does require reading skills, tho.
Search for the text/string value "1600", not a HEX value.

Considering how they botched even such basic things as proper FOV and ability to turn on Vsync using ingame menu, I find it quite unlikely - although I'd love to be proven wrong.

OK, I'm not going to argue since I did not do a side be side comparison :)

If you say that something "destroys" something else you imply that it is vastly superior. Borderlands does look better on a PC but IMO not better enough to claim that it "destroys" console versions. That's my major gripe with this quote.

Forcing FSAA is not a simple matter - most non-advanced users will never turn it on. It's not officially supported, meaning devs did not intend PC version of the game to have FSAA at all. And even if it works, black outlines on objects are not anti-aliased at all.

So that interview ends up being a crapload of damned lies ?!

Probably yes, similarly to this interview:

Maybe it's drivers, maybe os (XP) maybe both. I will try the latest betas.
Also for me the gun model was not antialiased, the only thing that I noticed that was antialiased were hanging cables.
And of course I noticed a performance drop completely unproportional to the effect.

That would be appreciated. I will also make screens and compare with yours. Thanks for your help :)

EDIT: Just checked. FSAA seems to be working (very selectively) but I still have purple outline on items, even on 41 setting. I'm nonplused.

I give up. I tried all the tips, the only thing I managed to achieve was a massive framedrob and a purplish outline on items:

Thanks, I will try. Perhaps for me it's a matter of OS (XP SP3) or specific drivers. What version of drivers are you using?
Also, did you switch off "enhance in-game AA setting" option?

Did you manage to turn on FSAA in Borderlands using the method you proposed? If so, which compatability profile did you use (there are at least 6 different UE3 compatability profiles in nHancer).

Has anyone managed to enable FSAA successfully? I read about different methods (for example: http://forum.nhancer.com/showthread.php?p=5653 ) but non of them work.
Cell shading with black borders could really use some jaggies smoothening, i think fsaa would be perfect for this game.

I am at level 13 Soldier so far, finally breaking down and changing FOV. To what value did you change fov? I have a widescreen 16:10 monitor and I don't know how to best set the FOV. All I know is that the default FOV setting is idiotic. I never had any nausea problems caused by FOV (even in croppe...

Step 3. use NVIDIA control panel to set custom resolution of 1680x1200

This results in black screen (resolution no supported) and reverting back to previous res.
