thorvald, could you write a major warning in your post. If you write something wrong, than it could damage your monitor (like having a too high refresh rate and things like that)

Done!

Now that the problem is solved: At least in gaming, your use for the monitors, do you find the image clear and beautiful? Is it superior to other LCDs you may have had in the past? Is it superior to the 226BW? Sorry John, I'm not hugely picky on my LCD's... so as far as I can tell they are great! M...

Correct, I get the OSD message. It's not a big deal to me but it's still there. Nigel solved my issue with this, here are the steps to resolve: ***WARNING: PERFORM THE BELOW AT YOUR OWN RISK.*** (We have no idea what might happen if you enter wrong values etc so be carefull!). Samsung 2253BW 5040x1...

Just to follow up to my messages in this thread, OSD message is solved by using Nigels method of changing the 57Hz to 60Hz and then performing the CTV and Manual settings as per the original thread.

Samsung 2253BWs working perfectly now at 5040x1050!

[quote="NZCoyoteThis was done simply by entering the value 60 in the GDI Refresh Rate cell (where currently you have 57) when setting up the custom resolution and then setting up all the other values the same as for 5040x1050 @57Hz as in the original thread I was getting similar values to you when I...

Setting up with manual parameters my monitors are now reporting 59.4kHz 56Hz and appear to be stable. This is a great great GREAT site, and thanks for all the info posted here. :) I assume you also still have the OSD message but it goes away now right? I'm hoping to tweak those settings more to get...

I too have been looking to get the 2253BW (or 2053BW). thorvald, can you expand on the nature of the video signal slow down? Could you be doing something wrong? Maybe the other two positive reporters put up with a slow signal, not knowing what they are missing? On other resolutions do you get any k...

Not sure if anyone reported back but with the 2253BW, the OSD warning not only goes away but it shows down the video signal! Therefore making the monitor useless. Still looking for a solution to 5040x1050, all other lower res's seem fine. Just a follow up to my issues, I was able to get it working ...

Wait! Maybe I'm an idiot.... lol. With those settings from the original post, all monitors get the OSD message but if I clear the message, all the monitors stay on!!!!! Never thought to try waiting longer to see if they would still blank. So far it's working! I can put up with the annoying message u...

Hmm, tried that and it does indeed change the rates for the monitors. However now even the 226BW complains about not optimum if I use those settings LOL. I think that thread is for an older version of PowerDesk-SE, since I have no problem with the 5040x1050 modes showing up, I just have a problem wi...

I can confirm the new Samsung 2253BW has the issue with the OSD Not Optimal Range and then going black. If you hit the source button it will bring it back but again the message stays on screen and eventually turns back off again. I have 2 x 2253BW's and a 1 x 226BW. The 226BW I have works perfectly....
