I have P2310Hs (TN panels) and viewing angles aren't really an issue when in landscape mode. Unfortunately they are plain awful in portrait mode...your head has to be in the exact right position and even then one edge of the screen is darker than the other. I'm thinking of ditching Eyefinity and goi...

Great stuff 8) I suppose there is some kind of editor besides the 3rd-person exploration mode, is it Hor+ as well ? How do 2D interface elements/tools fare in widescreen (if any) ? I'm not sure what you mean by "editor", but the ability to place/manipulate bricks is indeed the key part of the game,...

Hey guys, just thought I'd share my findings on the game Blockland and the simple fix to get it working with any widescreen system. Native Behaviour The game is normally Vert- as you can see from the screenshots below. (1680x1050) (1600x900) The Fix There is hope, however. A simple console command a...

I've been using Steam for many years now and I find it to be quite good. Not having to worry about CD's, boxes, or keys is great. Being able to reload my games as many times as needed is good too. The requirement to be online isn't that bad, it isn't like Ubisoft's constant connection rubbish for AC...

I apologize for bumping this, but have been trying to play this again and one or two more issues. Firstly, manually increasing the resolution to 6060x1080 has worked perfectly via the "isize=" line in fallout.ini and the fov is correct thanks to altering "fdefaultfov=" to 145. These settings caused ...

If you've been playing the tremendously fun Just Cause 2 game that was released not long ago and you happen to be running an Eyefinity setup you may have noticed a rather serious issue that makes the game difficult to play. The good news is that JC2 supports widescreen resolutions "out-of-the-box", ...

I haven't tested Crysis: Warhead, but I just ran the original Crysis at 6060x1080 with all settings at "High" with no AA and I got an average of about 25 FPS when playing through the first mission up to the part where you destroy the radar jammer. Now, granted for many people this is unacceptable bu...

No regrets here about getting a vanilla 5870...at least not after seeing the benchmark results. What intrigues me now is how well the new 5850 2GB from Sapphire might compete with a 5870 in triple-monitor gaming. To me the Eyefinity6 edition is too overengineered for a 3x1 display group but the new ...

I've been playing at 6060x1080 resolution for about a week now with a single HD5870 and I have to say I am really happy (and surprised) with the performance I am getting. You can't "Max" games but I am still able to use all high settings in all the games I have tried. HAWX runs fine maxed with 2xAA,...

Does it have a benchmark tool? I need something that is easy to do, and easily reproducible. Between now and the 31st I will be focusing on writing my review. I still plan to add more benchmarks after that. Just Cause 2 has a built in benchmarking tool and almost supports Eyefinity "out of the box"...

I decided to just go ahead and buy a regular XFX 5870, found a good deal and got it for $420 shipped. :D I've been waiting awhile for the 2GB card, but looking at the specs in the Anand article made me realize that it probably isn't the right choice for me. The extra (potential) $50-$100 cost is cer...

I didn't notice this before, but ATI had this chart of performance for 1GB vs 2GB. Now, as I always do with Nvidias charts, I have to take it with a grain of salt but if it were even half true, it indicates decent performance gains for the 2GB 5870 over the original 1GB at Eyefinity resolutions. htt...

Yeah, what, you're not making any sense here. If they render the UI only onto the middle monitor, it's the same UI as if for a single monitor. The fact of the matter, yes it is that easy, and the reason they aren't going to do it is because they think it's too low priority and the risk is too high ...

[quote]Just Cause 2 might make a good candidate for future testing. It seems to be up to date graphically and I believe the devs have commited to Eyefinity support. I've certainly been having lots of fun in the demo. :D I'll have to look at that. I have the demo, though I haven't had a chance to fi...

Do you even believe that BS yourself? All they have to do is change their algorithms for any drawing any UIs so they only consider the middle monitor. And instead of drawing everything at 0,0 they would shift it to e.g. 1920,0 (for 3x1920x1200) and then everything would get drawn to the middle moni...

This is a disappointing turn of events, but an understandable one. Adding in comprehensive widescreen support isn't always as simple as it may seem. You have to think of all of the menus in ME2; none of which were designed with widescreen gaming in mind. For instance, what would they do for the mine...

This may sound trite and a little annoying to those that are eagerly awaiting this board, but I (for the time being) am going to wheel out the "when it's ready" response. Sorry. In Scott's HD 5830 review over at Tech Report he did give some indication as to why the Eyefinity 6 Edition hasn't been h...
