The thread's title is unnecessarily bombastic and antagonistic, for one thing. Let's not turn this place into Hardforum.com. The gist of things is this: SLI scales better than CF, and since CF scales more poorly and might cause stuttering issues in Eyefinity mode in particular, people who want the b... |

Is there any way to control the..."fisheye-ness" of the "fisheye" effect? I know I'm supposed to stare at the center monitor and all, but some games have too much of a fisheye effect on the side monitors. On Bad Company 2, I reduced the v FOV to 40 so that my main monitor's FOV wouldn't be so out of... |

Figure I'd share some of my own anecdotal experiences: Performance is pretty damn good at 6040x1200 (bezel corrected), 4xMSAA, all options max, in the games I've tried. Bad Company 2 runs between 40 and 60 FPS (using vsync and triple buffering through D3D Override). Batman usually runs at 60 FPS - b... |

Those numbers don't really make any sense. How is 5870 CF no faster than 5870 in L4D2? And only four games are tested. Not thorough enough to draw any hard and fast conclusions, though it is probable that Surround will be faster than Crossfire Eyefinity simply because SLI scales a little better than... |

Just crossposting to give people here information: 2xGTX 470 on water, 800 core, 1950 memory. I could only tinker for a half-hour before bailing for work so I only had the time to try BC2, World at War, and Serious Sam HD. Everything seemed to work, though I had the wrong version of Widescreenfixer ... |

There's a guy on [H] selling his Dell 3007 for $650 because it has one dead green pixel near the center. Not sure what the input lag is like on that unit, though. |

I wish one of the gaming or tech websites would spare some time to investigate the root cause of this issue. At the very least, interview ATI engineers, and maybe Nvidia engineers, and figure out what is behind the stuttering in the first place. Speculation centered on PCI-E bandwidth. But we know t... |

If that is true, that's the first I'd heard of it. And I'd definitely have heard of someone bitching about it on the HardOCP forums or Anandtech if this were general knowledge. Well, guess I better find out more and figure out if I need to waste even more money to get 3-monitor gaming from Nvidia, s... |

That doesn't make sense. Are you saying that Surround gaming will not work under Vista? Eyefinity certainly does, and I can run all three monitors in desktop mode (and using screensavers). Or are you just saying it is easier to make the feature work in Windows 7? |

Anyone who thinks a C2D is an acceptable gaming CPU these days is far off the mark.
A C2D, regardless of speed, is antiquated architecture that seriously constricts even a GTX 280 SLI. It would definitely choke a 5850 CF. |

I installed 32-bit Vista, the leaked "surround" betas from last month, and the Vista modded INF, only to find out that the drivers apparently don't do surround gaming unless you also have 3D monitors. It's either that, or the surround feature only works on Windows 7 32-bit (that is illogical, though). |
