OK, I really can't get BioShock to letterbox when I use 1600x900 on my 16:10-display, it keeps stretching it vertically.
It only letterboxes when I set my desktop-resolution to 1600x900 and then play the game.
But I use the desktop at 1680x1050, and I'm not going to switch it first every time.
So how on Earth can I get BioShock to show like this?:
As it's shown on the first page of this topic...
Because any other game letterboxes automatically, including a game like 'Rainbow Six: Vegas', which also uses the Unreal Engine.
That FOV-hack-thing doesn't seem to help. And I don't know what FOV has to do with the aspect-ratio anyway.
All I realize is that the FOV was just too close/tight and it had to be drawn back to actually see more.
But how can I fix the aspect-ratio? How can I force the 16:9-resolution of 1600x900 letterboxed into 16:9 on a 16:10-display like any other game?
It does it when the desktop is at a 16:9-resolution for this game, but it's not necessary for any other game.
Something in the game ignores or overrides the aspect-ratio and it's very annoying.
I kind of wish it would do like 'Assassin's Creed'. Which even forces letterboxing to get a 16:9-image no matter what resolution. And that game's from 2006.
Better than all this hassle with the BioShock-games concering widescreen. They make such a game but they can't get the displaying of it right??...
I mean, it didn't seem to be a big problem for 'Rainbow Six: Vegas' either, that game is also from 2006.
But no, for the critically acclaimed BioShock in 2007 it has to be a problem... Sense... I can not find it... -_-
