Yes, that's a good point, some maps might not be wide enough to accommodate extra-wide resolutions. Still, you can always play in faux-TH. In fact, I would, as using native resolutions makes everything tiny - the game was clearly meant to be played with large pixels.

But, what about resolutions that are wider than 1920px, but narrower than the campaign maps? Can those be used without problems?

:doh You're right: as long as the visible area is smaller than the map, everything's fine.

I can confirm that 2560x1600 is unsupported - basically any display height higher than 1200 will crash the game, regardless of the AR.
