Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

First set the game to 1920x1080 play and exit game then make the autoexec.cfg file. My drivers are : 306.97

Here is exactly what I have in my autoexec.cfg file make sure you have it like me: My dir is --> L:SteamLibrarySteamAppscommonDOOM 3 BFG Editionbase (of course your Steam library or install drive will be diff)

seta g_fov 100
seta g_gunY -0.6
seta g_gunX -0.1
seta com_skipintrovideos "1"
seta r_maxAnisotropicFiltering “16"
seta stereoRender_interOccularCentimeters “12"
seta stereoRender_deGhost “0"
seta stereoRender_convergence “12"
stea r_vidMode -1
seta r_customHeight "1080"
seta r_customWidth "5760"
stea r_vidMode -1

Let me know if it works that is all I did it should work 100%

Hi,

I found a different CFg file: D3BFGConfig.cfg. I made your changes there and I got a 6000 x 10080 resolution working.
The only thing is: 3D is only working on my left screen. Which makes it impossible ot play.

No worries, I''l wait for a patch!

Thanks for the help so far.

For Nvidia users... found this fix in the steam forums
You need to start in windowed mode first, and change the resolution after. Stick this in your launch options (right-click game in Steam, click 'Properties', click 'Set Launch Options'):

+set r_fullscreen 0 +set r_windowHeight 1080 +set r_windowWidth 6048 +set r_customHeight 1080 +set r_customWidth 6048 +set g_fov 90 +set r_multiSamples 8

Substitute the resolutions for your own (mine is 6048x1080 with bezel correction). I also set the FOV to 90 (it was very narrow by default), and set 8x AA (not available in the menu, but we should all have good enough graphics cards since we're running triple-wide - that's the 'r_multiSamples' part).

It'll start in 6048x1080 resolution, windowed, at which point you can go to the Settings/System menu and change it to proper full screeen whatever-you-want. It's hackish because it requires changing the resolution manually every time you start the game.

Getting it started..

..as has been posted nVida seems to have a problem, something crept in at the last minute, for some combinations.

Two main start up tricks;
One; to get -something- started and get it to write .cfg in the right place.. ((windoze_user/save games/idsoftware..))

r_fullscreen 0, optionaly with r_windowWidth/Height

starts it in Windowed mode, generaly W/H not needed. Also useful for those that have more than 1 vid'card from dif'manufactures. (ie; laptop w/extention monitor/TV/3DTV) Lets them set monitor number/ID. (usualy need curent drivers for both cards.)

Second method to sort confusion on "What resolution";

r_vidMode -1 with (not optional) r_customWidth/Height

To set custom sizes the older games don't "see". Catalyst and my monitors let me create an "inbetween" rez' of "3x1280"x1024 that works great when you have trouble with odd proportions. 3840x1024 comes to 3.75 rather than 4.8 (1920x1200's) or 5.3~ (1920x1080's). Its pretty slick.

Seems there is a "bug" with "uber" rez' setups. I can confirm for ATI setups, unconfirmed on nVida's. Not just the tripples, like 2500 odd and above. Its not clear exactly what "uber" rez' causes it.
The DooM 1&2 "mirror'd ass backward" display and movement, bug, belongs to id Software.

Edit:..fergot to mention;
4 differant ways to set the variables.
1: launch option of the steam Icons
2: desktop icons
3: autoexc.cfg in user space, "user/save games/idsoftware/doom..."
4: autoexc.cfg in the DooM system folder in steam. (beside the "default.cfg")

1&2 are the easiest to remove once set and variables are merged into the DooM .cfg file.

There was some reports of a bug in the nVidia drivers for some.

BUT the Suround and 3d should work, if not, shortly.

Thanks works 100% for me (just using it to increase FoV). Now I can play without being sick!

I know is a bit late to ask about this game but I can't help but wonder...

Does the HUD correctly center for you guys in multimonitor setups? I am interested if it works properly on AMD Eyefinity since in Surround the HUD is spanned on all 3 monitors with the correct scale and AR but still is hard to see it all the way to the right and the left....

I have rebuilt the game from the source code also both on Windows 7 and Linux (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) and on both OSes it behaves the same....

If someone knows anything please let me know:)

Best Regards,
Helifax
