Open videosettings.scr with notepad in GTI RacingData and change Resolution to the desired resolution. Setting to change is about halfway down the config file.

Example:
Resolution(1440,900)

Tested with 1440 x 900, works great :) Can't notice much stretching except for intro videos

Thanks to wamoo for the solution, which is exactly the same as for Xpand Rally http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/5562 considering the two games are made by the same dev and are just the same game with different cars and tracks. Noticed this has been solved already here http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/7133 but just making it official.
