scavvenjahh, I tweeted the DR out, and the dev responded. They have some experimental support of multi-monitors in the 1.4.1 update. http://eurotrucksimulator2.com/update.php Experimental support for triple-monitors. Controlled by r_multimon_mode cvar (0-disabled, 1-wide fov with ui on central monitor, 2 - three separate views). In the three-view mode it is possible to compensate for bezels using r_multimon_border_fov_* cvars |

Hi guys. Long time no see. It seems my name is still mentioned in the ETS 2 WSGF instructions page. Also, it seems you guys are already aware of the new upcoming multi monitor advanced features that patch 1.17 is about to bring to the table. As SCS Software has provided a very detailed guide about the matter, I think it's safe to say thanks for maintaining my name in the credits (also my links that, BTW, still works) but that's about to turn deprecated when the patch v1.17 gets out of beta. If you still need my help with the new multimon feature, feel free to ask. But I'm 100% sure that it's not gonna be the case 'cos you guys are much more skilled than me. I'm running ETS2 with 4 screens as shown in the picture below. But advanced multimon is much more complex, allowing almost virtually any kind of setup you wish. All I can say is mode 4 is the way! |

Well, ETS2 is not a Steam exclusive so it is possible to stick to any game version that suits you best... Useful if you're not a fan of core game changes, or to use discontinued mods. So even though 1.17 looks like the Trucker God's gift to Multi-mon users, someone somewhere may still have a use for your stuff Anyhonk - could you share the configuration details of your sweet setup ? Do you ever use any of the external cameras ? |

Do you ever use any of the external cameras ? Sorry for the late reply. Well, even using steam, you can stick to an older version of the game FYI. I did it once. There was this amazing Scania open pipe sound mod, but it only worked on version 1.8.5. So I had to stick with that version for a long time because the mod was so good that I couldn't live without it. Also, the Scandinavia DLC will be only distributed via steam, so at the end of the day, all versions of ETS2 will be steam versions, at least the ones with the scandinavia DLC. About my setup, I'm using a more advanced setup now compared to the one I posted in the pic above. I'm using 5 screens now: Nvidia 4x1 2D surround for the truck, side mirrors and windshield, and the fifth screen is for the dashboard. I'll post a picture later, but here I left you with my multimon_config.sii file for such setup: Code: SiiNunit { multimon_config : _nameless.0000.00A4.4C53.67A0 { normalized_ui_x: 0.250000 normalized_ui_width: 0.250000 monitors: 4 monitors[0]: _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.CFD0 monitors[1]: _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.D2F0 monitors[2]: _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.DCF0 monitors[3]: _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.D430 } monitor_config : _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.CFD0 { name: center normalized_x: 0.250000 normalized_y: 0.000000 normalized_width: 0.250000 normalized_height: 1.000000 horizontal_fov_relative_offset: 0.000000 vertical_fov_relative_offset: 0.000000 heading_offset: -0.500000 pitch_offset: 0.000000 roll_offset: 0.000000 camera_space_offset: (0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000) horizontal_fov_override: 40.000000 vertical_fov_override: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_x: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_y: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_width: 1.000000 frustum_subrect_height: 1.000000 render_interior: true render_exterior: true } monitor_config : _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.D2F0 { name: left normalized_x: 0.000000 normalized_y: 0.000000 normalized_width: 0.250000 normalized_height: 1.000000 horizontal_fov_relative_offset: 1.000000 vertical_fov_relative_offset: 0.000000 heading_offset: 0.000000 pitch_offset: 0.000000 roll_offset: 0.000000 camera_space_offset: (0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000) horizontal_fov_override: 40.000000 vertical_fov_override: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_x: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_y: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_width: 1.000000 frustum_subrect_height: 1.000000 render_interior: true render_exterior: true } monitor_config : _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.DCF0 { name: right normalized_x: 0.500000 normalized_y: 0.000000 normalized_width: 0.250000 normalized_height: 1.000000 horizontal_fov_relative_offset: -1.000000 vertical_fov_relative_offset: 0.000000 heading_offset: -1.000000 pitch_offset: 0.000000 roll_offset: 0.000000 camera_space_offset: (0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000) horizontal_fov_override: 40.000000 vertical_fov_override: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_x: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_y: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_width: 1.000000 frustum_subrect_height: 1.000000 render_interior: true render_exterior: true } monitor_config : _nameless.0000.00A4.4C10.D430 { name: right2 normalized_x: 0.750000 normalized_y: 0.000000 normalized_width: 0.250000 normalized_height: 1.000000 horizontal_fov_relative_offset: -2.000000 vertical_fov_relative_offset: 0.000000 heading_offset: -1.500000 pitch_offset: 0.000000 roll_offset: 0.000000 camera_space_offset: (0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000) horizontal_fov_override: 40.000000 vertical_fov_override: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_x: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_y: 0.000000 frustum_subrect_width: 1.000000 frustum_subrect_height: 1.000000 render_interior: true render_exterior: true } } To put the dashboard on the fifth screen, you just need to use the telemetry webserver and the dashboard mobile found in the thread below: http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=171000 I use multimon mode4 to setup the whole thing. If you need more in-depth details, I can provide that. But it's all in that guide on SCS site that is listed in a post above. I must add that I talked to an ETS2 developer recently about this matter, and he said that multimonitor user-friendly setup UI is not a top priority, infact is a low one. So all you have is a command line console to play with. At least you don't have to guess the values, I think ^^'' Thing is: SCS still didn't realise how big ETS2 got after it's release in 2012. I know people that started with just the game, one screen and a keyboard+mouse. And today those people have triple screen setup, with Logitech G27 and even some people have a real truck dashboard to play with. It's amazing! I invite everyone in here to just try the game. 7 out of 10 find it very pleasant. Even my mother. And she is almost 70 years old and hates games with a passion. EDIT: I forgot to say that I rarelly use external cameras, if none at all. I just stick my head out of the window using Track IR so I can park the truck with more precision when delivering things at their destination. EDIT2: here is my actual setup: 4 screens for windshield and side mirrors, fifth screen for dashboard, one shifter for changing gears, and another for parking-brake (when UP) and changing form Hi to Low gearbox (when DOWN or NEUTRAL) and also for extra buttons. link for original image size: http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/720918095412403487/7FF39D9D6A886528943907D83A998B6A9098A54C/ |

Five monitors and two shifters. Amazing Thanks a LOT for all the details. One thing though, Scandinavia is not bound to Steam - only physical copies are: Quote: 2. Alternatively, if you want to avoid installing the game through Steam, we are still offering the Scandinavia expansion through our legacy activation system on the official Euro Truck Simulator 2 website. Keep on truckin', and your momma too ! |
