Well I for one am offended by the outrageous content in games and I hope this law is upheld. Do you know what are in games nowadays? Gay sex and penises! Floppy, digitial penises!

Do you want your child to see a penis? Can you imagine the confusion and terror a child would feel if the first thing they saw when they were brought into this world was a penis?

This has been going on for like 6 years now. I don't understand why California won't just give it a rest. Maybe they have more pressing concerns, like an economically devastated people and that whole San Francisco disappearing up its own asshole thing.

They need to distract, "certain people," before they legalize weed.

I think its interesting to have the esteemed Governor backing this absurd law. As opponents have pointed out the games are already rated, trying to take anything beyond ratings systems sort of infringes on various rights.

To think Schwarzenegger released all those movies with weapons, death and mass destruction under a ratings system. Maybe we shouldnt let any of those DVDs be sold?

Debating this with a bunch of UK dudes on pcgamer.com it became evident to me that the issues I have with this law are very American in nature, i.e. the government shouldn't have any power over media. That seems to be common in other countries... ?

Anyway, I am very against it and more importantly it has about a snowball's chance in hell of being approved.

I can't name a country off the top of my head besides the United States that is barred from banning movies and media, except in cases where its content is commonly seen as obscene and illegal, such as snuff and child porn. I know the UK has a board that can ban movies, as does Ausfailia, Germany, Japan, etc.
