You didn't mention whether you're on XP or Vista though.

That article doesn't help when testing the actual game.

The article was written about testing the demo, not the final product. Also, there could have been a memory performance issue (I didn't notice them saying they used hi-perf ram).

And although I can't back my findings with real FPS, I can see that it's running faster and smoother.

Oh, and I am using Vista 64, as before, I finished the game using Vista 32.

No need, since you've done all the work already.

And umm, actually, since you're not aware of this, every game that natively supports 64 actually adds new visual features to make the game look better.

And here's a FarCry benchmark that clearly shows the 64 bit version outpacing and outshining its 32 bit brother.

Here we go again with my throwing out the word optimization anticipating being treated like an idiot for it by "Dope"fish (how ironic), but indeed how well a game is optimized for 64 bit makes LOADS of difference.

As mentioned it was proven with Far Cry that you could get better terrain detail and a larger map with no drop in FPS on 64 bit, which DOES btw translate to faster for those whom seem to need it explained to them despite their pretending divine knowledge.

That being said, are there lots of games out there that make good use of 64 bit? Not nearly enough in my opinion to show what it can do. Amazing how modern games in some ways can outpace current hardware yet in other ways are so slow to evolve.

Then again I think those attempting to implement 64 bit in their games are not so much going for faster as they are enabling more features with no FPS drop, so it depends how you look at it.

GINTER.

You have literally no fact to back up your claim.

I would bet money that if I showed you Crysis on a 32bit system and told you it was 64 bit, and then showed you Crysis on a 64bit system and told you it was 32bit, you would say the 64bit (actual 32) runs smoother.
