All in all a nice expansion but not as good as the main game, and called a sequel for some unknown reason.

Its called making bank.

Expansions when they were made were half the price of the main game.

But I fully agree with you.

Original Bioshock level design seemed much more inspired and scenic. I dunno, this one is definitely worse. I didn't care for the original much either though, by no means was it an innovative masterpiece as many outlets made it out to be.

Would have had great mods too.

Yep, I just played the original's opening level again to compare and level design, pace, tone, audio, little touches... everything is better in the original. Just a better dev team, no way around it.

2 is a nice little expansion though, I do not actively dislike it.

If I could only get one, should I get this or wait for AC2?

Let me rephrase. If you could get only one, would you get this or AC2?

Bioshock 2 is basically an add-on of new levels for BioShock, which AC2 is supposed to be much improved over the original. Given that I would say AC2, but then I have not played it... waiting on the PC version.

Bioshock 2 is an expansion, strangely with worse graphics than the last one. This game would be amazing in the hands of modders but sadly that will not happen. Nothing special.
