Thanks for the tips ...

I deleted every video.con file that I found.
BF-2 now works in widescreen mode and works also with the hack enabled.
Unfortunately ... BF-2142 doesn't want to start up anymore, so I'll do a re-install on that one.

Seems the Battlefield games have a refresh issue as well.

I've seen in my old 8600GT that the resolution was 59hz instead of 60hz as default. Changing it to 60hz might be a problem solver for some. :)
