They should. Those were simultaneously made for PS1 and PC - not ported to PC ten years later.

What we cannot do:

* We cannot add Mouse interaction for the UI.

Cannot do my ass. It's honestly not that hard. I hear they make you type in your name by navigating the letters of an on-screen keyboard console-style too.

The excuses some devs use for what they "can't do" is hilarious. For smaller devs, I can pretty much get behind the reasons "no more money" and "ran out of time" but that shouldn't hold true for the bigger dev houses, and the excuse "difficult/impossible to implement" definitely shouldn't be allowed. Nor should "it's to stop cheaters/make it fairer for everyone". ;)

For a feature as basic as that, I wouldn't buy any excuses from a dev no matter how small. Give me the source code, and as long as it isn't written in something stupid like assembly/Malbolge/Entish, I'd have it done in an hour. Hell, if it *is* written in something stupid, I'll have it done in a day, only the "mouse interaction" functions would be in C++.

Meanwhile... http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/12/22/oddworld-strangers-wrath-for-psn-taking-hd-remakes-to-the-next-level/

Is it just me or did they completely screw up the hi-poly Chippunk ? The thought of this elderly pedobear spawn sitting on my crossbow and looking at me is quite unsettling.

Now, the Oddworld is primed to be repopulated once more. Series creator Lorne Lanning told Electronic Gaming Monthly, in a preview teaser announcement, that Just Add Water is currently beginning production on a high-definition remake of the first title in the franchise: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee.
