Does anyone remember the first Windows 95 game ever? It was a console conversion too.. Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure.

What I don't get is this: Vista's probably going to be quite a few bucks... why not get a bloody XBox and Halo 2 for that?

XBox = £80
XBox Halo 2 = £35

Vista = £300?
Vista Halo 2 = £40?

I think I'll go the XBox route if I'm that desperate...

Well, i'm gonna get Vista anyways since i can get a lincense through work for free.
So there is not a big problem for me there but i can imagine lots of other people who want to play the game but don't want to convert to Vista.

For gaming I will choose XP but I will try Vista as a desktop computer.

With Vista's rather larger recommended requirements compared to XP, I cant see gamers benefiting from it...especially if the OS doesnt free the resources it uses so the games can use them instead. But given I havent used it yet I could be completly wrong, and I hope I am. I would like to see Vista improving gaming but for some reason I dont see that happening.

But MS is trying to make it a decent gaming platform. When you start a game all the flashy and unnessecary stuff is turned off so you can get more boost in-game.

Was it really? Christ thats a long time ago!

I think the first windows 95 game i had must have been....damn i dont even remember, it must have been pre-direct X though...

The first direct X game i had was Virtua Fighter! It was DX2 and i remember crapping myself while installing when it warned me i could have serious driver conflicts! But my little STB Trio 64V+ worked just fine :)

Sega were one of the first companies to make all Windows games too, I had echo the dolphin, Sonic CD, Panzer Dragoon, and Sega Rally, all on Windows!

That must have been around '96 ish.
