Uh, the topic says it all.

I keep hearng/reading that there's voice-over stuff from the turrets and the AI computer in Portal.

However, I've yet to hear a single voice. The game runs well with no other audio problems. Also the commentaries play just fine.

anyone else have this issue?

I played the whole game thru last night at work on my notebook with no problems and also had no audio. Others were telling me about how creepy / cool it was while i was playing on steam chat.

Then today at home I played on my desktop and the voices were there, magicaly and I beat the game again the real way. Its a shame it would have been cooler the first time thru. All I can think of is the game didnt load right. I had the game preloaded and tried to launch it before restarting steam, thats just a guess.

Other than that I dont know. However atleast yes somebody has the same problem as you. Sound Card is Realtek HD Audio.

I looked on the steam forums, somewhere like on page 5 I found a thread about it, but it was just a question about it, nobody has posted with any kind of answer.

So my "cookie cutter" suggjestion is to make sure you have the newest sound drivers for your sound card, and if that doesnt work then try to reinstall the game.

From there I would just mess with the audio options and see if changing them has any effect.
