Happy holidays everyone.

I mentioned this in another post, but I don't want it to get off topic, so I made this separate one for the cockpit.

Here is what I just finished, fellow surround gaming enthusiasts...

The slide cage is rail mounted for full enclosure. Those are lighted spst momentary switches that will be programmable / map to keyboard, etc... I just don't have them hooked up yet. The seat is a gaming chair you can get at wm that hooks into the sound system. The cockpit has 5.1 surround as it is, but I split the rear channels to also go through the chair speakers on the left and right, and the extra sub in the chair back that gives a kind of "force feedback" since you feel most of the appropriate triggers through it.

I've seen much better home cockpits from much more skilled craftsmen, but for my needs I'm diggin' it!

Those pics are really dark and hard to see much detail. Is it triple head or single display? Doesn't look too bad as far as the cage construction itself though.

It's a triple display setup. I hadn't hooked up the TH2G when I took the pics.

Cool, I suggest you get it setup in triple, launch something like GRID, and take some pics with a bit better brightness level if you want to really show what it's capable of. All the better if you can use a small camcorder.

Here are some pics with all three diplays working. They are going to be a bit dark because that's what it is built for by definition... full enclosure.

From what I could tell, Oblivion and Star Wars Battlefront 2.

That it is... the last pic is from Empire at War.

The first topic pic of the cockpit is very "busy" for convenience sake with the several pics in one, hence the "darkness" and lack of "detail"...

If you'd like the better individual version of the forward inside display / control, here it is...

http://s481.photobucket.com/albums/rr174/hrw3go/?action=view¤t=Cockpit028.jpg

Also, that wasn't just empty false modesty about there being much better stuff out there. Check this guy out... totally original design and expert craftsmanship, even down to custom making his own sticks and controllers. I just can't believe he's making this thing this awesome and not making it a triple surround system.
