Howdy folks, Im new and nothing interesting to post yet but I saw this on kotakus website yesterday and it seemed cool if your wanting to get one.

Well seems the promotion is back in another form now. And better yet you can use the card at any ps3 retailer (gamestop, bestbuy and such) or buy it from sonys website and get the 150 dollars taken off your bill.

Yes, but you will be stuck with a Sony credit card. I say that's a high price to pay for $150. Others may think otherwise of course.

Unless there is some illegal stuff in the agreement you sign when getting the card, they can't stop you from simply paying it off every month (and thus never paying the insane interest of Credit Cards) or after using it for that PS3 purchase, never using it again.

Of course, Sony would then have a fair amount of info on you. If they don't already, of course.

Sony doesn't need credit reports or credit cards to have information on you. That's what they have SecuRom for.

Wal Mart was giving a $100 gift card with a PS3 purchase a few weeks ago. Combine the two and you'd get a PS3 for $150. I'd do that.

For those who are in the "Playstation Underground" they sent out an e-mail at the end of October, advertising that if you purchase a PS3 on Amazon as well as two select Blu-Rays (at $20 each) and a game (at $60 each) you would get $100 off.

Only works if you got the code however...

The card offer requires you to apply for the credit card, wait for it to arrive (several weeks) and then buy the console with the credit card before 12/31/08. And then you're stuck with an extra credit card!

No thanks...

That'd be a great way of doing it. :)

Cutting it a bit tight, really. ;) Although my Credit Card took about two days to arrive. :? Probably different in the UK/US. ;)

I've already got a PS3. ;) I got an original EU model with (sort of) backwards compatibility in there.
