Looking at those screenshots it doesn't look like the FOV worked. Maybe it should be set higher? Look at the archway on the catwalk or the dude standing there. Totally stretched. (If it doesn't bother you, that's cool... but I get really perturbed by distortion :))

On another note, if you want your settings to stay, try making an autoexec.cfg. I did that to have it run com_allowconsole 1 so i don't need ctrl-alt to bring up the console. Or, you can do a command line switch in the shortcut (as Sociopath pointed out).

I have got a Voodoo Envy m780. It has a 17" widescreen LCD with a 16:10 ratio. The LCD supports native resolution of 1680x1050. I have tried 1280x800, but the game plays a little too jerky for my liking. If I set it to 960x600, then it scrolls left and right, as if you've set the resolution too high. I am playing Doom3 at 800x600 at High Settings.

I wanted to find out how to set the screen resolution so that it doesn't stretch the game to full widescreen, but that the 800x600 reaches the top and bottom of the LCD. So that I get a thin black bar on the left and one of the right as well.

Normally when I set this within the ATI Control Panel, it creates the 800x600 image in the middle of the LCD with black all around the image.

Can anyone help me?

:L:

Thank you ;)

I've just had a look to the "rise of nation solution" post. sounds like the game do not support it. did you try another 16/9 res ?
