Hi,
in this forum there is a thread with the name "achloard beat"
because it's written wrong by wazzay2k1 i started a new one
i hope this is no problem ;)
i found a possible solution for a widescreen fix in the AL forum today:
Has anyone found an entry in the UserINI to re-position the HUD and GUI windows?
Could be you could have them drawn on different coordinates of the screen in order to align them better...
... just a thought, though, I haven't popped open the files yet to have a look, and can't from where I am at atm.
Glad to know that I can set it to run at a resolution better fitting my monitor... will definitely improve the way the world looks, at least.
Gotta figure out a way to fix the GUI and HUD though... I am thinking, worst case, set the resolution in the game to 1024x768 and then edit your INI for, say, 1440x900. It should render the GUI to fit within the screen... though it's going to be ugly, heh.
Yes there is a way to do this.
..Archlordtextureui contains 2 files: Data.dat and Reference.dat
Data.dat consists of all GUI elements ind DDS (Direct 3D Texture) Format. You can split this file based on the DDS Header into the original smaller files.
Reference.dat holds the positions of the files contained in Data.dat
You can just extract, change the DDS, then put them back together and change the Data.dat accordingly. This way you can make a custom set for your resolution.
now my question:
it would be nice if anyone with the AL client (available over fileplanet) can extract and change this DDS files for the most popular widescreen resolutions 1440x900 and 1680x1050 . i don't have any clue how to do extract the files! :(
if anyone could do this it would be fantastic! :D
or tell me how i can extract these files and i will try to change these things!
