Hello everyone, I’m a newbie in tweaking for widescreen gaming. I’m testing "Medal of Honor – Airborne" and can’t find support for 16:10 screens, I see only 16:9 resolutions. How can I do something about this? Detailed instructions would be nice. If I could add a 1280 x 800 resolution or 1024 x 768 with a 1.6 aspect ratio, it would be great. Many thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum ... :D

To change the Resolution ...
In this folder ... on XP ... C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorMy DocumentsEA GamesMedal of Honor Airborne(tm)Config

Find the file ... MOHASettings.ini ...
Go to the bottom ... under the heading ... [WinDrv.WindowsClient]
Change the resolution to your desired resolution ... such as ...

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
StartupFullscreen = True
StartupResolutionX = 1280
StartupResolutionY = 800

Make the file read only to stop the game from changing it back.

Now ... to get the FOV ...
In the same folder open ... MOHAInput.ini ... right at the bottom under the heading ... [MOHAGame.MOHAPlayerInput] add the line ...

Bindings=(Name="Z",Command="fov 100",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,IsRebindable=false,BindPos2=True,MOHAConsoleBinding=False)

You can of course change the key (in my case z) for any key you like ...
and ... you can change the FOV value for anything you like ... in my case "fov 100"
In the game just press the key you chose to enable the FOV.

Note ... this FOV setting may mess up the gun when in ironsights or after sprinting ...
I have only tried this in Triplehead and others have had a few problems with it but for me they are only minor.
Triplehead uses an extreme FOV setting so it may be ok in Widescreen
Look here for more info on Triplehead with this game ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11806

I just tried this with the demo and I can't start the mission.
Where it used to say Press E to exit briefing it now says Press to exit briefing.
Solution?

It is very odd the way it is working for you ... maybe the Z key is also bound to something else ... :?

Another way to sort the FOV that you could try ...
From this thread ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/8037#comment-159873

sorry forgot to mention how

just add "-enableconsole" in the target shortcut and when you get in the game hit the tilde button and type "fov xxx" for whatever FOV you want. ...

Also a FOV of 88 seems a bit low to me I think if I remember correctly the original was 80.

Isn't 100 too big for a 16:10 of 1920x1200?

If the original FOV was 80 then according to the FOV Calc for 16:10 it should be ... 90.3997378108
I would just use 90.

So I guess your 88 wasn't so far off ... :D
Did you get it working ?

I erased the changes to the files and enabled the fov witht he console. I used a 92 fov.

Anyway, good game, but I heard there are very few missions in the game. :(

Thanks for the settings, I tried them and it works. However the info on the screen look crushed. The circle and the compass I mean. I guess there is no solution for this?

I have to say that I’m shocked that a 2007 title doesn’t support 16/10 widescreen. :x
