Yay.

Pretty sweet, and Episode 2 rings in at about 8gb.. twice the size of Ep1

Oh and Portal is about 4.5gb, so it looks like it'll have many-a-puzzle.

In-game commentary is the bitchin-est idea ever.
(yes, i know Valve isn't the first to do so)

Woah, where are you pulling these numbers from. Right click Episode 2 - > properties .. "Disk usage 1338mb" and looking in your Steam folder the files add up to 2.6GB in total. So a lot under 8gb!

Portal -> Properties "Disk usage 985mb". And in Steam the files add up to about 1.1GB.

And they're both VERY SHORT. Portal has about 30 puzzles. A few hours if you stick to it. And Episode 2 has already been said to have a playtime of "about 5 hours" by Valve.

I beat Portal in 3 hours and got 49% of the Achievements in the process without trying. Time to work on the Advanced Maps, But keep in mind there will be in INCREDIBLE amount of mods and extra maps in the future.

Ah i was looking teh wrong data... D'oh.

Still, with HL2, both eps, TF2, Portal, Lost Coast, and Fake Factory's bitchin' Cinematic mod, it takes up 21.1gb

Oy.

Totally worth the purchase.

Two things you mentioned are free and another is already owned by most. :D

But if you do not have any then it is a good deal.

Orange Box is in the mail on the way to my house.

I haven't played any Half Life 2. Should I install the cinematic mod right away? Are there other mods you'd recommend?

I Highly recommend you use cinematic mod right out of the gate, its almost hard for me to play episode 2 since the cinematic mod for it is not out yet :/

And make sure you play ALL of the half life 2 games in order. If you havent played HL1, Dont play HL2 till you finsh HL1, Dont play episode 2 untill you have finshed episode 1, so on.

Correct order is

Half Life - Opposing Force - Blue Shift - Half Life 2 - Episode 1 - Episode 2

HL/OF/BS beautifully wove together the same plot and maps from difference viewpoints of the game, OP and BS can be beaten in about 4 hours each.
