Is there any way to run Diablo 2 in a window, or change its resolution at all? Ideally I'd like to run it 1440x900 windowed, but I'd be glad to have anything other than its default of 640x480 FS. |

Well, I have to admit, when I first tried this according to the steps on the web site, I thought it just didn't work. But then I figured, it was just due to my using it on Vista x64 so I went upstairs to put the little ones to bed. To my pleasant surprise, when I returned, my screen had several 1024x1280 and 1280x1024 windowed D2 windows open due to my having launched it several times because they did not come up immediately. I've closed the ones w/ the wrong aspect ratio and kept my 1 correct 1280x1024 window and will proceed to try playing in single player mode as Tanuki has suggested. After that, I'll try creating a fresh account so as not to get my main account banned. Things are looking up! P.S. The settings I used in each tab were: Common: Checked Us Windowed Mode, Height=1280, Width=1024 (instructions said these are reversed due to the badly translated UI); Window Mode: Directx1-7=checked, rest unchecked; Foreground Control and Direct Input as is (nothing checked). --- Update: It created a 1280x1024 native sized window on my desktop, but still scaled an 800x600 within that window up to 1280x1024. So it's not native at all :(; trying different settings. |
