The game has a zoom level seperate from the camera position that allows proper Hor +.

However I cannot get any new distances to take in the ini file at this time. But you can see an example by using temporary shortcut keys.

Ctrl+PageDown increases the zoom by a set amount giving you Hor + and some Vert + depending on where you stop.

Here are some shots. The game adjusts the camera slightly in different resolutions. Like you bumped your mouse a little. :D



1600x1200




1920x1200 Regular (Vert -)



1920x1200 Zoom Out 1 Level

This is not really useful for gaming at the moment. I will do a reinstall and try before applying different patches to see if I can get any changes to register.

Just wanted to share. If anyone knows about the options.ini...

CameraZoom=600

; Camera distance from Avatar
CameraDistance=400

Unless there's a way to increase the FOV by a precise amount so as to achieve hor + regardless of the ingame camera position, then I think we'd better consider Ultima IX to be vert - as far as the MGL goes.

I am trying to get the default camera zoom level to change.

Basically if it loads up Hor + and stays Hor + then it can be useful.

These things tend to have fragile lifecycles but there are always exceptions.

Neat. But the "immersive original story" thing bothers me a little. I get the funny idea that if this project sees the light of day, it will basically be bad fan-fiction. I'd much rather it say "Bob White plot."
