First I just want to say hello to all as this is my first post. I have been using this site for a while, and I really like what see here, Props to all the people that keeps the wheels running :D

About Obscure 2, I have found a way to run the game at 1680x1050 and it probably works in other resolutions too, but I'm not sure that it's real 16:10 because all text is a bit vertically stretched but not by much. But the higher res definetly improves on the jagginess of 1280x1024 which seems to be the highest res the game will allow from the option menu.

All Ramblings aside here comes the solution!

Open the registry.
search for "Obscure 2" and edit the entry called VideoResolution.
This Value gives you 16:10: 0x0690041a means 1680x1050 since 0690 in hex = 1680 in dec, and 041a in hex = 1050 in dec. Just use your scientific calculator to convert your desired resolution into it.

Hope this helps

Ps. Thx alot for a truly wonderful site :D

Pps. Can somebody recommend me a Win Xp 32 Bit driver for my Geforce 8800 GTS (G92) 512 MB that will allow me to force AA in games, as this feature seems to be broken (I have already tried several official and non official without being sucessful)

Works great. Thanks! I was thinking about tossing thsi recently. Now i can fianly play through it.

Though i think it's vert- and the game still looks slightly off 1:1, but it's a damned fine improvement.

As for your driver issue, I also have a 8800gts 512mb (Evga) and I've had pretty good luck with the Nvidia's official Mya '08 release. I tried teh June release but i kept getting driver crash notices while playing game. No OS crash, but it needed a restart every time.

There's also modified drivers.. I've tried a few but i rarely saw a performance increase worth waiting the extra few weeks for, as custom drivers typically take a couple weeks.

Thanks again for the solution. Maybe it should be added to the Games List?

Thx for the info, I will checkout the May release.

Btw. Does Force AA work for you with Obscure 2?

No, strangely enough..

Tried multi, super, regular AA. 8x, 16x, 16qx.

And they all look the same as no forced AA.

My image is still skewed a teeny bit.. perhaps 1680x900 will do it... though it appears taht it should be stretched a bit teh other way.

I'd test it, but I'm heading to bed. Perhaps after I wake.

In the windows calculator:
Just put you the number in the calculator: 1360
Click on Hex, read that number: 550
Add 0's to make a 4 numbered number: 0550

Same for 768=> 0300

Put those after 0x:
0x05500300

Put that in the register and your good to go :)

I just tried this in 1920x1080. Unfortunately the game is all completely stretched. To keep the correct aspect ratio, the highest resolution would be 1440x1080, values 05A0 and 0438 (which, as I am realising now, it's not accepted by the game. It just won't start with these values.)
