ATI has a new page up for EyeFinity.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity.aspx

Thanks, but youll need a DP compatible monitor if you want to run a triple setup ? :?

"Driver version 8.66 (Catalyst 9.10) or above is required to support ATI Eyefinity technology and to enable a third display you require one panel with a DisplayPort connector"

well I think it just needs a DP to DVI adapter since bandwidth ain't a problem anymore (unlike matrox TH2GO)

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!

3x1 "Portrait Display Group"

purely retorical!!! thats the best right there....

3x 1920x1080 = 3240 x 1920

3x 1920x1200 = 3600 x 1920

3x 2560x1600 = 4800 x 2560 lol

http://www.pcper.com/comments.php?nid=7744 <-- 4800 x 2560 in action

i think i'll stick with 3x 1920x1200 portrait - wont hurt pockets as much =)

[quote]Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit silly using this with an even number of monitors? Unless you have an odd number setup, you'll always have a huge bezel (or multiple bezels) right in the middle of the screen... making it totally impossible to play any action games.

Unless you do what Fatmotti is saying, you are absolutely correct. Having a bezel in the "middle" is complete nonsense for a gamer. While I understand the tech demo aspect of showing 3x2 30" panels, it doesn't work for me. I'm all about 3x1 or 5x1. Maybe 5x3. That would be 2.667:1, which isn't an overly large aspect ratio. I'm more worried about aspect and "immersion" than raw pixel count.

Oh, sure, the inverted T solution is fine. But something like 2x1, 4x1, 2x2 or 3x2 is totally silly.

The bezel management sounds awesome on the Eyefinity from what ive read.

For Linux, yes. Remember that Windows BM isn't implemented yet. Couple of pics to illustrate:

What size do you think those Samsung monitors were?

I think 22" or 24". I couldn't find any model # or labels on them, and didn't examine them very close. Sorry.

Hmmmm...that page seems to contradict what I was told about display symmetry. :?

I thought the sticker shots might be appreciated. ;)

I blame the alcohol.

I would to, if I had any. ;)

So, I've looked for an answer other places, but i can't find it. Can Eyefinity work on current gen cards? or are we gonna have to upgrade?

EDIT: Also, lookat the x-plane Demo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6Vf8R_gOec

Note the Top Left Quadrant is the main card. It reacts "early," But really, it's the other Quadrants that react late due to the cross talk issue. If CF was enabled, this would be an issue, but sense each card is rendering an instance of the game, you're gonna have this problem.

hum from what I read at anand it seems like there's more display engines to be able to do that
so my take would be that Eyefinity should be available on newly launched hardware only. (which also makes sense financially)
