Tearing only happens with adapter! On HD 6970 i'm running 2X DVI +DP. no tearing at all!
IF this Adapter will make problems (would be a hardcore fail from quality controle from AMD, wouldnt it?) i'll just plug in the HDMI cable imstead of dvi and run on 3 Native ports ;-)
Maybe there wont be any tearing no matter what adapter!

AND i'm confident they will make an Eyefinity 6 version from HD7970...

I dont experience any tearing, but im in the same boat as BHawthorne and suiken_2mieu with an E6 card, although all 3 adaptors are mini-dp to dvi, 2 are passive and 1 active(DL-DVI with usb power).

I run all three of mine as actives just to keep things all the same. Most of my issue has been some crappy cable ends on monoprice DVI-HDMI cables where the HDMI end gets messed up. I also have one of 6 of my active adapters that is flaked out.
