Thanks, I'll have my HD 5770 soon, and I wanted to know if you were using the same setup. Hopefully I can get similar results. Fingers crossed :)

Well i got my Dp to VGA adapter yesterday and was very exicited...Plugged everything in but no luck. DP screen does not come on...Fiddle around and the got it running @ 3840 x 1024 , which looks bad as my screen are 1920 x 1080. All of them Benq T2200HD's.
Played more but no luck and then BANG: BSOD with them message: atikmdag.sys
From then on i could not activate my DP display. each time i do it BSOD.
This morning decided to format and re-install Windows 7 with the hotfix dirt2 driver...reboot...nothing dp display off. ....click on detect display...bang eyefinity @ 5760 1080, but my dp display flinkers on and off every few second...reboot...start up...no eyefinity...try setting it up..bang BSOD...well at work now...this not good.

[quote]I tried the dp to vga from apple, it doesnt seem to support 1920x1200,when i make a group it forces all three monitors to do 1600x1200???

which native resolution do your monitors have?
does it work with a single screen in 1920x1200?

in the german apple shop, some1 commented it does work with his 1920x1200, but most specs around the net only mention 1080p

Native res. is 1920x1200, i tried hooking up 1 monitor, via dp>vga, and the highest res was 1600x1200.Will try active adapter later this week, when it arrives.

I have purchased one of these from the UK seller linked in this thread, got the item 2 days after payment so thats the good news out of the way.

bad news if just like the active DP adaptors the monitor connected to the DP blinks black randomly.

Hi, I'm new to multi-monitor gaming, but have 3x 24" monitors running @5760x1200 with my HD5870. I did now know that such a simple adapter would work, instead, I spent a lot of time and effort scouting around for an active DP->DVI adapter. It's non-existent in my neck of the wood, so I had to resort to Amazon, ordered it and wait for stock to be replenished. Finally got it a few days back, it's an Accell B087B-002B btw, and it works right out of the box. Followed [H] video review on how to enable EyeFinity and I've been cruising along since. Anyway, I'll be around here more often asking questions when I need to, so please excuse my 'newbishness'.

Thanks! :cheers One question though, when IS ATi gonna release a driver that supports CFX + CFX for users like me? I'm not the only one you know....

Thanks to TexasTango for the info on that time. I saw it while poking around monoprice.com and they have the damned thing for a measly $23.44 shipped to Canada. Saw the mention of the "chip" and figured it'd be a possible TH solution. And lo, WSGF has info on it, already. Lovely.

But now I'm considering buying 3 24" displays instead of a big TV, but my local stores only have shitty TN panel displays and I'm too paranoid to order something so pricey without eyeballing it first, Sometimes living on an island is a p.i.t.a.

GUYS!!! And Gals :D I am happy to report that I received my $20 Monoprice DP->VGA Adapter. And it works! At FULL 1920x1200 RESOLUTION! I was really worried after reading reports of high resolutions not working properly with these adapters, but this one works almost perfectly for me! I say almost, because I do get the flicker issue that many people have reported - but the same issue has been reported on the expensive DP->DVI adapters as well. By flicker, i mean that once every once in a while (seems like every 15 min or so) the screen will flicker black for a moment, as if its lost signal, and then return to use. Games do NOT lag when this happens, so I'm not too concerned about it - hopefully ATI will fix this issue in a future driver release.

Here's the adapter i purchased:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042801&p_id=5135&seq=1&format=2

And some screenshots of the final setup! Those are 3x Dell 2405FPWs, attached to a Radeon 5850.
