I'm now having no problems with the actual Eyefinity setup working. I'm even playing several games using it and it's quite impressive.

But, for some reason, Far Cry 2 is very "iffy" about recognizing the resolution. I've had it working on a few occasions, but, most of the time, when I come back to the game later, I have to go through all kinds of trouble getting it to work again.

So far, I haven't been able to recognize the magic key to doing it consistently.

I've searched this forum and Googled for some kind of settings to add to an .ini file without any success.

TIA!

I got into FC2 recently, and with my old monitors (1280x1024 each) I had no issue running 3840x1024, but then that was using the TH2Go digital through a HD 5870.

However, I've not so far been successful getting Eyefinity working with my new 5760x1200 setup as I don't have the requisite DP-DVI adaptor for the middle monitor.

If I manage to get that sometime in my lifetime, I will be concerned if FC2 has problems with it, as it's a major game for me currently.

I use Windows 7 and the file is located:
My Documents/My Games/Far Cry 2/GamerProfile.xml

In the .xml file, enter your Eyefinity resolution. I use 3840x1024, so my entries look like this:

ResolutionX="3840" ResolutionY="1024"

These 2 values show up in the file about 3 times, so change each one.
If the values don't stick, you might try making the file "read only".

Try it out, good luck.

I managed to get a Sapphire Active DP-DVI adaptor, and got Eyefinity working finally! :D :cheers :rockout

FSX works fine with the new 5760x1200 res. However, FC2 didn't show any of the the resolutions in the normal game graphics options. So, I tried your XML file workaround and it worked so thank you for that!

However, the new resolutions still don't show up in the game options. Is this an FC2 bug, or is there something else needed?

PS - Using DX10 mode...

That is typically what happens when forcing a resolution (via command line or config file) in most games.

I do get the new Screen Resolutions in FC2. What I don't like, though, is how the menus are stretched across all three screens. But, once in the game, the game plays nice, with the center screen pretty much normal while the side screens are protracted.

BTW, I generally play the game in DX 10. I was doing some experimenting recently which is why this screen shows DX 9. ;)

I had to get the 1.3 update before the menus stopped stretching. Interestingly this is only for eyefinity, as when i used the TH2Go, it still stretched.
