It took two series for it to happen. All I can say is finally we get adapters shipped by default with the cards. :)

Just ran into a bunch of PR marketing slides floating around. It looks like 7000-series has some serious updates for Eyefinity. I'll leave the specifics for Ibrin to cover as I don't want to ruin the surprises I just read. ;)

Seems odd it took this long. Maybe they realise if it "just works" then they will sell more = more money, rather than people jumping to nV to try that. But yeah, looks like a monster card, from all the rumours!

Were the surprises in that article, or in the PR slides? I couldn't find them. Care to link me?

They're in the full 12/14 marketing slide set. The slides are floating around the web all over the place in the last day or so. Eyefinity 2.0 will be adding several things over the next few Catalyst drivers.

Wait, Eyefinity 2.0? Is this something they're going to implement on the hardware side or on the software side? I'm curious as to what they're doing with it and if there's anything new to it.

This article was an interesting read http://alienbabeltech.com/main/amds-upcoming-hd-7970-exposed-a-short-lived-video-card/all/1

Although it does not state if eyefinity 2.0 is a hardware or software change, it does indicate some extra features such as...
#new grid setups
#flexable bezel compensation
#16k x 16k support

and from the slide, it looks like it support different size/res monitors.
