Hi, I'm getting a little bit confused right now about the options I have with my current hardware.
My intention was to setup an eyefinity 3x1 Portrait mode and to have several other monitors showing my desktop (3 additional with another base resolution)
I'm currently using 2 6970 in crossfire.
So my mainquestion is how must I connect the 6 screens to the cards, as my fist thought to have 2 displayports, 1 hdmi and 1 dvi running on card 1, was not working...
next try was to connect the 1 dvi to the second card, but in this case I had to disable crossfire ..
So any advice how to connect minimum 4 screens (more would be better) to the cards while using crossfire?

Best regards

Now that is strange... Do you use DP on your Monitor or do you have Adapters to DVI/HDMI ? If so. Active Adapers?

Right now i have 4 Monitors on a HD6970. 1x DVI, 1x HDMI to DVI adapter, 2x Mini DP.
And thats around the maximum you can with with normal means. You can either use 2x DVI or 1x DVI + 1x HDMI.

If you wan't more you have to get DP-MST hubs. Or another GPU. Check out this Thread(Thx to suiken_2mieu).

Currently active is DP1 DP2 and HDMI. The 4th Monitor was connected via DVI ... might it be possible that I need to run the HDMI also as DVI?

But how to proceed with the rest of the monitors? Is it even possible to connect 6 Monitors to 2x6970 in crossfire?

No

maximum is 4 ! even though you have 5 connectors.

If you run Crossfire ALL monitors must be connected to one GPU.
IF you run SLI you can connect them to both GPU's as you like.

Currently active is DP1 DP2 and HDMI. The 4th Monitor was connected via DVI

That should work.... strange.

Try connecting all cables to 2nd GPU. Maybe a broken port ?
