Hi guys, i've been reading all the threads I can about this problem, and in other gaming forums. The thing is i'm not a gamer, I use Eyefinity for media servers in live shows, And the standard here in argentina is to use VGA signal, not DVI. I saw a lot of "solutions" for the tearing problem that is using DVI signal instead of VGA.

5770 cards didn't have this problem

I couldn't fix the problem on a xfx 6850.

Tried all the configurations possible, a lot of beta drivers, but no.

Now im looking to buy a 7850 card, but if the tearing on VGA signal has no fix, it's not going to help me.

any idea ?

:welcome

Tearing while using all VGA is mostly unheard of around these parts, as you say most people suffer from DVI tearing/flickering.
It the card OC'ed or is AMD overdrive enabled, sometimes this could cause this issue.
Could it be a bad adaptor, is it on the same monitor each time? if yes, if you move the displayport to vga dongle to another monitor, does the flickering/tearing follow the dongle?

Thanks for the welcome,

I don't have the 6850 right now to try it, but the miniDP adaptors i used werent the worse available.

I have a big projection mapping oct 15 and I will use two 6850 with 5 outputs to the projectors, so then i will make more tests.

any known problem for the 7850 to be aware of? mostly using VGA signal..

thanks again

I did not experience to many issues on my 5870E6 cards, and I am not experiencing any issues with my 7970, however thay are all dvi, apart from the 4th which is vga, still, no issues experienced here.
