I don't know if this is old news or not, but it looks like the foretold firmware has been released.

http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/drivers/download/latest/

including support for 5040 on ATI cards.

It says on the page July 7, but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't available then...

I think the WHQL 9.7 drivers are floating around already...

I dont think it was out earlier either, I was on the site getting the latest PowerDesk SE (then uninstalling it and swearing loudly).

Does anyone know if this solves the problem vista is having with NVIDA drivers that are older than v182?

I installed the firmware update.

updated my Nivdia driver to the latest version (I run win XP pro)

now I can get 1920x1200 natively on my 24" monitor (single display)

for some stupid reason in games before the update I can only chose up to 1680x1050 in games (1920x1200 won't show up)

I don't like the new powerdesk software.. they made a new ratical UI change..
