I see you already have been on the thread about the samsung so you have to try one thing. Set your current monitor to 1680x1050..if it works then the TH2Go @ 3x168x1050 will work! Make sense?

@Paul C

There are *VERY* big differences between a 30" and a your 24". All of the first gen 30" panels came out without internal scalers. In fact the Dell 3007 required an NVIDIA video card be used, and scaling is down through the GFX control panel. Without the proper support from your video card, all first gen panels would only do 1280x800 or 2560x1600 - nothing else. And, they required Dual-Link DVI to run at 2560x1600.

Prior to the recent update to the DTH2Go, the max res was 3x1280x1024. This is 3x5:4 resolution. Why that individual was trying to scale 5:4 across 16:10 is beyond me. He should have been trying to do 3x1280x800, which the panel could scale. The new update to the DTH2Go offers 3x1680x1050, which is the right aspect ratio, but there are still probably scaling issues.

I'm not aware of a <30" panel that does not offer some sort of scaling. You shouldn't have an issue with any 24" monitor out there, as long as it meets the specs for 57Hz frequency. Note, I said you "shouldn't," not that you "won't." Without having the monitors myself, I can't promise.

Perhaps off-topic, but why do the Dell 30" monitors have such a limited internal scaler?

That may very well have been some marketing thing (the NV only). But, at the time ATI had crap drivers and didn't offer aspect scaling. I've only had NV cards on my PC, but the monitor works just fine on my Mac with both ATI cards and NV cards.

But, all first gen panels came without scalers. That is also why they only had Dual-Link DVI ports. No VGA, HDMI or component, as they couldn't scale the image.

9800 gx2's here in sli works fine with th2g slight problems in getting the ultri high resolutions to register in newer games! other then that their good cards run a little hot so might want to go for a heavily ventalated tower case!
