Well...here are some differences between the two.

SoftTH is only compatible with DirectX based games (and certain ones at that), while TH2Go supports more games because it runs on a hardware vs. a software level.

SoftTH allows you to mix different monitor resolutions, TH2Go doesn't. TH2Go can only run up to 5040*1050 at 57hz, SoftTH can (theoretically) run at any resolution or refresh rate.

TH2Go needs one graphics card, SoftTH needs two.

TH2Go can use SLI/Crossfire, SoftTH can't.

TH2Go costs money, SoftTH is free.

SoftTH is limited by the bandwidth of your second card's interface, the TH2Go isn't.

SoftTH can implement multiple color profiles for each monitor (if your GPU supports it), while TH2Go can't (as it's seen as one monitor).

The list goes on...but it really depends on your needs and budget.

If the TH2Go can't run it, SoftTH almost always can't (I can't think of an exception but there probably is one).

For games it's not a limit of your hardware but a limit of the software. Check the Games Wiki (link) to see which games you want to run will support Triplehead.

You've got to move on to CS Source and you'll never encounter any problems with the TH2Go.

You can, but you will want to make a HotKey that switch the primary monitor to the center when playing games in full screen that don't support Ultra Wide Resolutions.
