I am running Vista 64 ... while the patch worked (I got the two new resolutions in FSX) it caused a problem with the FSX display. Tech support says they are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it... or something like that.

Another baffled 3x1680 by 1050 Triplehead2go user here.

I've got the display across all 3 screens, but only at 2400x600. Attempts to 2 higher either give me a scrambled single display or a blank screen.

I'm using an 8800 Ultra on XP32 SP3 with 3 Dell 22" 1680x1050 display and a TH2G Digital.

I've updated the TH2G firmware. I'm running NVidia drivers 177.92 (because someone reports it running ok with them). I've tried running the applet that's supposed to add the resolutions, but it reports I don't have a TH"GO attached! The monitor is showing as a TH2GO, not a plug and play.

When I run the GXM manager (which is the recommended version) I get a list of resolutions, but don't get the 5040x1050, even using Edit etc.

5040x1050 is available through Windows (Right click, Properties etc) but I end up with another scrambled display.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks,

CJ

Call tech support... they can remote in and take a look at the problem for you. That helped me out a bunch. In my case I was using a newer driver from invidia and had to roll back...

Which applet is this?!

I'm having a problem getting 5040x1050 also, i cannot select it from the display properties or even see it in the GXM Edit mode list. The only way i can see it is if i changed the number of monitors from 3 to 2 but that doesn't help me.

So far i've updated the firmware, updated to the most recent version of GXM app, installed the display adapter from plug and play to the matrox display adapter. Upgraded to the most recent drivers for my 7800GT (175.19_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql.exe) and unselected the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" option in the advanced tab of the display settings.

Also in the monitor settings the only option i have in the Screen refresh rate is 60Hz, there is no drop down menu for any other frequencies? Am i missing something here? When people say that the 5040x1050 only works in 57hz does that mean that people are manually setting thier monitors to 57hz or if the monitor can run it then it does it automatically?

I think he means the "Edit mode List"

It is automatically set to 57Hz.

I think it is your monitors ... see this thread particularly the second from last (the 11th) post by magstheblue ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9269t=acer

Do we have a list of monitor models knows to work at 5040x1050? I've been on the thread discussing the issue that it might be monitor type, and particularly an inability to run at 57hz, and the results seem inconclusive.

I'm running 3 x Dell E228WFP and I'm curious if anyone has those working.

I'm assuming this is now the place to put all TH2GO @ 5040x1050 related discussions.

Cheers

CJ

So i read that thread and while it sounds like Acer might be the culprit it sounds like it almost might be the model of Acer he is using "P241wb" I am using 2 AL2216W's like rulehorse who
[quote]OMG!... Started flipping through the threads agian and this one caught my eye. Rolled my nvidia drivers back to 175.x and It WORKS!!!

Guess I don't need the nvidia 177.x drivers yet but it would probly be a good idea to tell people to roll back their video card drivers if all else fails.

THANKS :)

So to me since im using the same monitors as him sounds like it might not be my monitors after all? They dont have 177.xx drivers for a 7800GT do they? The most recent drivers i can find is the ones i have installed which are the 175.19_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql.exe Should i try installing earlier drivers then that one? I have been unsuccessful finding earlier drivers, where can i find them? I've looked on nVidia's homepage under the Beta and Archived drivers and there is no option for the 7800GT

I'm also having the issue where sometimes I can get 5040x1050 in 32 bit color, but other times all I can get is 16 Bit. Usually if I keep trying, it will eventually go back into 32 bit mode, but it's still a pain. Happens almost every time I load a game and then exit back into windows, windows drops down to 800x600 pixel resolution and then won't let me set it back to 5040x1050 32bit.

I'm running an 8800GTS in Windows Vista, with 3 LG l226wtq monitors.

Question that's occurred to me :

Do you need a special DVI cable to allow the TH2GO rig to run at 5040x1050? I've seen no specific reference, but presumably you need more BW at 5040x1050 than at 1680x1050.

Grateful for views and advice.

Thanks,

CJ

Ya, you need a Dual-Link DVI Cable:
