Dunno if it help you people, but saw a topic about powerstrip and 3840 pixels limited res. In the topic somebuddy posted: you can go above the 3840 limit by adding Unlimited=1 into your pstrip.ini |

I recently posted about my success with 5040 x 1050, however this was with a BFG 8800 GTS.. well I just upgraded to a GTX 275 and that didnt go quite as smooth as the old 8800... After about 3 hours of rebooting, black screening, blue screening of doom and unplugging and replugging my matrox unit back in I actually managed to get it to work!! So all those people out there who are still struggling hang in there! The problem is I cant really say what I did to get it working, all I know is removing the GXM and starting over again seemed to do the trick. I think the fact I created a 1680 x 1050 custom res first then installed the GXM afterwards somehow helped and It then let me create a 5040 @ 57hz straight after! I dare not change anything now but it all seems to be working ok! System is Win XP, a PNY GTX 275 and 3 x V7 LW22D widescreen monitors. |

Sounds good, but 180.48 ? Thats an old driver, you should have no problems to update to 182.50, many ppl are running the 190.56 (inclding me) without any issues. |

Why updating anyway? All games I played so far work even with older ones... Running the latest (if possible) drivers are generally recommended for the best performance, and if it doesnt change anything for you doesnt mean it wont be different for all users. |

yes u are right. Maybe I am little lucky since nothing goes wrong, but may happen one day :) But some reported it works even on latest patch and that would also mean that it may work for them, but not for others :P But overall you are absolutly right. I didnt mean it that way ;) |

Post subject: | Updating my Drivers |
I agree!! Now that I have a WORKING setup with no issues.....I can now try updating toward the latest Nvidia drivers. I was just SOOO HAPPY to have everything working in 5040x1050 that I wrote what worked for me. I will reply and let you know what drivers (hopefully the latest) will work for me. Either way this post has been the most helpful for me to get it all working. Now, if I could just find all of those really cool 5040x1050 wallpapers. |
