Well I couldn't get the crosshair to appear so I downloaded Fake Factory's High Res Mod and that has it. A lovely mod!
needs a fair bit of RAM so I re-installed Vista 64 bit to play it :roll:

Hi I was wondering if anyone else has got this problem back. I could play HL2 no probs on 3840x1024 and the crosshair was there, now using the new 5040x1050 it is gone. This is running a fully patched (STEAM) copy. Is this an error on my PC or is the new res not yet patched to work? Cheers M1.9P |

Because that is the way FAKEFACTORY wanted her to look. Can you find and isolate the file that makes the crosshair work? I want my crosshair back! |

Because that is the way FAKEFACTORY wanted her to look. errgh, the FF mod is about a 7GB download! Where would that sort of stuff be? I am a programming numpty...hardware and software at the admin/tech level is me not hacking into inf and config files! |

Mob ... Just a thought ... would it be related to the HUDLayout.res ... the file you modded for the centre screen HUD in CCS ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/8579 I don't have the game installed so I can't check it out myself. |

That is how it is in the MOB's Center Screen HUD Layout ... so you never know it might work ... and maybe the ake Factory HudLayout.res can be modded to be on the center screen too. But ... we would now need one for 5040x1050 as well as 3840x1024 ... :p |

No crosshair and its all messed up. It must be another file. BUT I am confident that I/we can put together a centered HUD for the HL2 games. They have even less HUD elements than the other ones so it'll probably be easier. Unfortunately it would be very difficult for me to make a centered hud for 3x1680x1050 because I don't have a setup capable of supporting it or testing it. |
