Hi all

Currently I can not get above 3840X1024.
Does the cables from the TH2Go unit to the monitors have to be Dual Link in order to get higher resolutions?

Here is what I have done in the Wizard

Set up an existing Matrox product. TH2Go DE is in the drop down down box. Next >
TripleHead and Install triple wide-screen modes are both checked. Next >
Manually select mode. Wide-screen modes: 1440x900 per monitor (output refresh rate: 60Hz) Next >
Then on the following page it list the following.
[list][*]Matrox Product:
TripleHead2Go Digital Edition[/*:m]
[*]Graphics hardware:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285[/*:m]
[*]Windows display used for Matrox Product:
Display 1[/*:m]
[*]Input used:
Digital[/*:m]
[*]Monitor 1:
ACR Acer X263W (Digital) on connector 1.[/*:m]
[*]Monitor 2:
ACR Acer X263W (Digital) on connector 2.[/*:m]
[*]Monitor 3:
ACR Acer X263W (Digital) on connector 3.[/*:m]
[*]Display setup:
3 displays, Stretched mode[/*:m]
[*]Use Matrox product as primary display:
No[/*:m]
[*]Display mode to apply:
1440x900 per monitor (output refresh rate: 60Hz)[/*:m][/list:u]I then click Next >
Everything gets a green check mark up until;
Applying Mode. At this point I get a red X, A Windows error has occurred

I know my monitors will do 1440x900@60Hz. And this is actually less pixels then 1280x1024x3 anyway. So I would think it should work, since I can get 3840x1024@60Hz.

I also get the same error if I try to select 1680x1050 per monitor (output refresh rate: 55Hz)
I don't remember if 55Hz is supported by my monitors or not. I do believe it is only 50, 59 and 60 that was in the list when I was checking them before my unit came.

So, I don't know if it is due to my cables going to the monitors, something with Vista or a user mistake in the above setup options that causes this. My cables are DVI to HDMI, but the DVI isn't dual link.
Any ideas?

Okay, one more question, please:
Is there anyway to not use Bezel Management for normal windows operation, but use it for games? Is there a setting I am overlooking to setup the Bezel Management to apply ONLY when a game is launched?

For my use that's the only time I would need it on. In Windows I would like it off, since it causes text and such to be behind the bezels, if you know what I mean.

I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 SP2.
NVIDIA Driver 185.85

Thank you for any help or suggestions.
Bye for now :)
Butch

Hi Butch_N!!!

There are problems with your driver! The last known working one is 182.50!!
(or the 190.15, but its not released officially, and i got probs with it)

If you install the 182.50, there will be no error!!!

During installation i choosed also 1440x900@60Hz, but after installing everything you can switch to 3x1680x1050@57Hz!!!

Bezelmanagement: give it a shortcut and before playing activate!!

Thanks guys

I will grab 182.50 and install it sometime today.
Thanks for the tip on Bezel Management. I will hunt the software for a setting up a shortcut key.

Yep, 185.58 is a PITA driver version. 182.50 is the answer.

Is it just that 185.58 "doesn't work" no matter what, or is it something more subtle? :?

No; these cables can be single-link.

Doesnt work as there is an ongoing bug with nVidia's Custom Resolution Validation routine that started in the 185 series. Its working better in the 190 betas, but not even close to being fixed.

Thanks guys

182.50 is working for 4320x900@60Hz. I can't get 5040x1050@57Hz though. My monitors say Input Not Supported.

I haven't tried to set a lower refresh rate, yet. I may be out of luck there. But at least I now have proper aspect, so I can live with it.

But one game is not displaying any video at all with the 182.50 Driver. Test Drive Unlimited. It worked with 185.85 though. I even tried 3840x1024, but same thing. #2 and 3 monitors shut down and the #1 is a black screen. I get sound but no video at all, not even the logos.

I tried compatibility mode, but it didn't help.
And SGU v2.10 has never been able to find a config for that game, though I was able to select 3840x1024 in the games menu when using 185.85.

I found the Keyboard Shortcut for Bezel Management. I don't know how I missed that,

Have you tried to set your desktop res as 3840x1024 and then try to run TDU ? I dont have this game, but aside the drivers change you were running all games at a "native" 3840x1024 before, and now 4320x900 , maybe thats the problem.
