I havn't researched it too much, but i was thinking of just buying 3 22" LCD's to replace my 19" ones. But I have a 4870 and I'm not sure if I can run 5040x1050 @ 57 hz on my card. So can I? Before I buy some 22 inchers. |

I would certainly want to get some first hand feedback from someone running a 4870 if I were you, but for what it's worth I believe you won't have any problems. I use a 4850 (which can't be that different from a 4870 internally, and driver wise) with 3 x 22" LG screens. The setup with TH2Go was completely painless, and all three monitors sync at 1680x1050 @ 59Hz. I am not sure, but I think the ATi drivers will achieve 5040x1050 by syncing at 59Hz, and NOT at 57Hz. nVidia users always seem to be working with 57Hz, so I think it might be a clear cut nVidia / ATi difference. If that IS the case (that nVidia will sync at 57Hz ALWAYS, and ATi sync at 59Hz always) then that makes me think that we should have two monitor compatibility lists - one list for those that definitely work at 57Hz, and those that definitely work with 59Hz (in the event that there are some monitors that do one or the other, and not both). I haven't seen any discussion on this at all so it might be something that exists in my head alone. In any case, what I can categorically state is that LG L227WT monitors will happily deliver their top resolution at 59Hz :) |

I have an ATI 4890 and run 5040x1050 @ 59 Hz on my three 24" monitors and using Catalyst 9.9 drivers (newest ones I think). Most important is that you get monitors that work with the reduced frequency. I looked at the 57Hz monitors list when I got my Samsung 2443's, and thankfully all my 3 monitors work fine with 59Hz (not sure if there is a compatibility difference). |

Yes - I suspect that a monitor capable of the 57Hz timing is *probably* OK to support 59 too, but it's yet another thing to complicate the issue when working with TH2Go. |

Ati Cards (some) only very recently ran 3x1680x1050, only with the latest firmware update and drivers. It is still a bit hit and miss though. |

I'm running a 2x 4870x2 Quadfire setup and 5040x1050 works just fine. |

@Octoboy I was not able to reach 5040x1050 with my 4870 in CF, but in single mode. How do you get your res? Tobi |

I went to the Matrox homepage and downloaded all their latest software. I installed them and then it let me chose which res and 5040x1050 came up. Can't recall doing anything special. Maybe I was just lucky? |
