[quote][quote]When I get my hd3870 I'll post my results. :D
....you would need two to accurately prove what you're trying to describe.

No I don't! It'll work with as many DVI ports as I have availible. Do I need another 3870 to try 3 screens? Yes, but I can still test it w/2 monitors(like a dualhead2go).
....that's possible with games using current graphics cards.

It's called "spanning" and I can do it with my 8800gts right now.

I know game spanning has always been on Nvidia, but not on ATI, until now.
So yeah, I was wrong about the xfire thing. But for ATI fans, multi-monitor gaming is a new thing.

Though spanning may be new (really?) to ATI users, I don't think that was quite the aim of your argument in the main, was it?

From the get-go, were you talking about spanning, or an implementation of surround gaming exclusive of a DH or TH?

.....I can use spanning on my LAPTOP ATI card from over 2 years ago.

Hell, most likely I could run triplehead off of this POS laptop.

Sure I would get only 5-6fps on basic games on a tri-screen setup, but I can do it.

And yes, this is an ATI card.

And there is nothing "new" about it.

I would play a crapload of money if they released video cards that could be connected together to upload to multiple monitors and have it look like "one resolution" to a video game. It can't be that hard anyway, just do some buffer copying pretty fast.. SoftTH does it, but it needs to be supported per-game which is kind of lame.

I want to be able to do 3x1920x1200 already!

spanning is not new at all. I've done it on several odd setups.

ATI sure...but with crossfire, it was like sli...only one monitor...at least they got that part. I heard SLI 2 will have multi-monitor support...but my knowledge isn't firsthand since...I honestly do not need multi-gpu.
