It's not just you; I get the same thing in 5040x1050. Using 177.83. Works fine in other rez's.

Hey Killtacultur, are you saying you manage to get it to work with 177.83 (are u on XP or vista) ?
My computer won't even allow me 5040x1050 in 177.83. I manage to solve the issue but clicking Antialiasing off. The only strange secondary effet is that some 2d panels when called from the VC sent the computer into a infinite loop (ie having the mouse arrow turn into a donat).

Yep. I had to add it as a custom rez (something's messed up in the 177 series w/ custom resolutions). I have a couple posts that outline how I solved it, but start w/ the 175.19's to get it working right, and then go from there.

Hello,

i just installed the new drivers to run the new widescreen resolutions for the triplehead2go setup(http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/press/releases/2008/gxm/th2go_widescreen/)
When i run FSX in the new resolution (which happend to be the native resolutions of the 22'' screens) , every few seconds my screens go black for 1 or 2 seconds !!!
I am running the 1680 x1050 resolution on each screen and I have a fully compatible hardware and drivers with the new triplehead2go resolution (alienware with vista, 2 x geforce 8800 ulta sli with the latest drivers, FSX acceleration).
The problem goes away when running FSX with a lower resolution ie 1280x1024.
Did anyone encouter such a problem..any idea how to solve to problem ?

Best Regards

Fulcrum

PS: actually i reallize that everytime the screen blackouts I get a driver stopped working and recoverd message :(

Hi Fulcrum,

I don't know if by now you have already solved your issue, but i'm kind of having the same.

everytime i run FSX the screen keeps on flickering, going black back and forth. It is very annoying.

The only thing i found so far was an Vista issue posted on fsinsider. they point you to a vista update site, but i couldn't manage to install this upgrade because i get a msg that tells me the upgrade is not applied for my system.

Did you solve your issue already?

Help! anyone.

Thks. regards.

Fabio.

I myself solved the problem.

You download that SGU program that you can find at the matrox site and once you've installed it run the program and choose one of the optimized resolution you find there. of course, you need to choose FSX (or FSX: accelaration) from a list of games to apply the optimization in it. Then you go inside FSX config and choose the same configuration you chose on SGU, and that flickering, annoying problem is over!

Hope i could help.

regards.

Fabio.

Did that already, even before I tried FSX first time. Still flickering.
Workaround is to disable AntiAliasing.

Sorry, but that worked for me, and i still use AntiAliasing with no trouble.

Now i have another issue with widescreen: the lights at night. they're too shiny, blurred, not real.

did you have the same problem? or Anyone?

regards.

Fabio.
